Hey Shatten, is this meet held at the lot of Pikes Peak Acura? If so, I know the service manager that is holding it. He invited me personally when I had my S's SC put in. Can't wait til then.

The guys who are organizing this have been in touch with me. They sent me the itinerary today...it is as follows, it sounds like fun!

If you have any questions, email them to Jeff Brand jkbrand@bwn.net.

Friday night (7/20) Monte Wilson has indicated he's willing to arrange a tour (for interested parties) of vintage-restoration or vintage-race-prep shops near his place in Denver. By copy of this e-mail, I'll ask you to contact Monte directly (hope that's OK with you, Monte!). Perhaps folks can indicate a few things in your e-mails to him: (1) your preference for seeing the vintage Ferraris (assuming Monte can schedule it), (2) your preference for seeing an American muscle car, race-prep shop, and (3) whether you'd like to meet for dinner somewhere before or after the tour.

Leave Denver on Saturday morning (meeting place still to be determined, but we're shooting for Courtesy Acura to host our send off), north on I-25 to Colorado 66. West on 66 through Lyons to Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Trail Ridge Road, and down into Grand Lake for brunch/lunch.

>From there, we'll meander towards Kremmling and southwest to pick up I-70 and into Glenwood Springs. Somewhere between Glenwood and Aspen we'll make arrangements to have dinner and to spend the night. (I need to get your sign-up sheets and deposits so we can give a reasonably accurate head (car?) count to our overnight hosts.

We are looking at Basalt, Carbondale, and Snowmass Village for potential overnight stays.

On Sunday morning after breakfast, we'll head east on 82 out of Aspen, over Independence Pass to US24. South on 24 to Buena Vista, then east towards Woodland Park and Colorado Springs and to I-25 again.

That's the route in general, but it does not describe the stops along the way. I have deliberately chosen not to get too detailed about where all those stops should be, but there will be lots of opportunities for photographs, pit stops, and side excursions on both days. We can discuss those when we meet prior to our departure Saturday morning,
7/21.

I will make copies of the maps (with routes marked) and distribute them on Saturday morning so each car will have one. Radios in several cars--especially lead and trailing--will ensure we're able to stay together.

At the risk of sounding pedantic, keep in mind that we'll be traveling from around 5000 feet to over 14000 feet with temperatures likely ranging from 90 to 35 degrees. Plan accordingly, especially you Targa owners, to ensure your comfort. Consider dressing in layers, and bring along some warm clothing...maybe a small cooler, too, in the trunk.
