Default September 20, 2003 autocross results and musings.

Wow, that was a lot of people. 44 drivers total, even with our 40 spot pre-registration cap. I'm getting comfortable enough with the timing software, however, to have four cars on track at once. It gets pretty hectic, and you really have to stay focused, but it works. Once of these days, I hope to have a second person who can run the timing gear too, so I can properly spectate. Hopefully everybody noticed that things went much more quickly after lunch than they did during the morning. I think we'll stick with our 40 driver cap - a few more drivers here and there won't hurt but I'd rather not have to run a 100+ car event like ER, BMWCA and such have.

Thanks to Dave and Jo for bringing lunch again. And this time with no onions!

Thanks to everybody who came out early and helped set up, and to everybody who stuck around to clean up. That helps us out so much...

And how about that weather, eh?

Umm, I dunno, what else? I had a great time and I hope everybody else did too. And congrats to Corey for some very quick runs in the afternoon.

Just as a thought.... the four cars on track really didn't allow corner workers much time reseting cones.... but the race was very well ran.... now if we could only start earlier or skip the hour lunch.... LoL....

I had an awesome time! Very well run as always. - I noticed the overall course design was very similar to the last on, but some sections cleaned up and many more pointer cones than last time, am i correct in this assumtion? I loved the course btw lol. Cant wait till November!

I, too, had a great time as always! Thanks for the course, though it was a bit tighter than I would have liked. It was hard squeezing my fat American car through those perpendicular gates on the back section.

We need to run the Mineral Ring. That would be fun.

WooHoo,
Things are getting fun in S2000 street class. Maybe I can avoid those slalom cones on my last run of the day and squeek by Paul next time Since we're splitting points this time around Paul, you realize you have to come out in November right? We'll have to do our run off then

Looking forward to the challenge!

By the way Dave T. excellent run. I had a great time guys. I'll see you all in November, and some of you at S2Kdays.

Later,
That registration girl

I agree that 4 cars on course makes EVERYONE work harder. Working the start I had a hard time spacing cars out. I can do it, but I have to stop fraternizing with people on grid. Resetting cones can be challenging on a technical course, it's hard enough just trying to watch all the cars in your area.

Thanks to everyone who helped make it a great event (probably the best yet).

Thanks for the compliments on the course design. I used Gregg Lee's past course as a starting point, which was nice to begin with, and added a few things and took a few others away. Be looking for an all new course in November!

Woohoo! Sixth fastest time overall. Not bad for a stock Miata on race tires. Now if only I can find a way to shoehorn an LS1 under the hood...

As always, an excellent event. Course was fun, fast, and flowed well - not something that can be said about some other local club's (BMW anyone?) courses. Not quite as technically challenging as Gregg Lee's design from last time, but still a lot of fun in its own right.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - dollar for dollar, you guys put on the best events in North Texas, bar none.

The results have been added to the "beta" results page. Please let us know what you think of it. There are other results in the database, but I don't know how accurate they are. We will get the rest of the older results in there soon (hopefully). The results are here.

There is also a season championship results page, but it will not be accurate until the rest of the events have been loaded into the database. Take a peek at it, and let us know what you think. It can be found here.

The drop down boxes at the top of the pages are used to select the event date, sorting method, and / or championship year.
