FYI, I would do a search but the search engine here appears broken.

The guy answered "NO!" when I asked about using a rear wheel dolly instead of a flat-bed tow so I asked "Why?". Then I stated that the car is already on them. My wife, who wrecked the car (but it wasn't her fault), told them she needed a flat-bed tow but they sent a regular truck with some dolly to put under the rear wheels. I'm hoping that is okay -- but if not I want to know why (so I can understand what, if any, damage was done).

If the front tires are up on dollies, you may be fine. If not, you're certain to scrape the front bumper bottom. There may be some other issues that I'm not aware of.

Oops, my mistake. You have the dollies under the rear wheels, and presumably you have the front end lifted.

This may be OK, but I don't think the tow bolt was designed to take that much force, and you could risk bending the bolt, or the frame where it attaches. If it's already been done, check out the tow bolt fitting to see if there was any damage. Otherwise, there shouldn't be any problems.

From talking to my wife, the guy didn't use the tow bolt at all. I assume the truck is holding the front wheels somehow and the rears are on a dolly. Man I sure hope nothing else gets damaged.

As long as the rear wheels are not turned and nothing is scraping it is fine.. more than one way to do almost everything.
