Default Speed-craft Dyno'd Not too good

Well, after 17 hours at Jotech, I come home with the possibility that my turbo may be shot. I got one decent run with v-tec before my turbo started smoking really bad, and it was only to 7500 rpm. The wastegate problem was fixed this morning. Don't know exactly what caused it, but it's fixed now, no leak. We tried tuning the car from 3 to about 12:30 tonight, but the turbo started smoking bad, so the tuning was aborted. It was driven on the street to make sure I could drive it home, but the turbo didn't smoke anymore. We will try to figure out what's going on with the turbo and do more street tuning on the motor next week. Today's best number (also the last dyno run) was 249 whp at 5 psi of boost, only at 7500 rpm. That was unfortunately at 13.6:1 A/F. I'm shooting for around 12:1 A/F.

Also, I have the dyno saved, but can't upload images to album. Probably since I'm not a paid member.

What emanage maps are you running? 50WHP isn't much for 5psi but it's not THAT bad. If 13.6:1 is before the cat and you had the car good and heat soaked by then, adding a little fuel may help some.

Jason I glad to hear you go the kit up and running, the guy that was going to buy my car gave me B.S. for like a month or so never bought the car. Hey you might want to check your oil feed line, I hear that Speed craft put a NOS jet in the line to restrict the oil , check that jet i think wesmaster had a bad/clogged jet leading to a bad turbo. ALso, what dyno was that on, Dynojet, Mustang?

Todd, right now I'm running a modified map from Fperra. I'm going to have Kenny compare the maps from fperra and wesmaster and see if we can't get one of them to be a good baseline. The 13.6 was only because Kenny had to pull a lot of fuel after VTEC. The a/f would dip off of the charts on the dyno run before that. Never got to dyno after that b/c the turbo started smoking. After that, on the drive home there was no smoke, but today I just got back from disconnecting my oil cooler, and the exhaust was spitting out white smoke bad. I was hoping the turbo wouldn't smoke as long as the car was moving, but that didn't work. I'm looking at a possible rebuild of my turbo, the preliminary diagnosis was the seals in the turbo were blown. I might have to put the car to stock, depending on what the costs are for the repairs, and sell the kit.

Henry, I never got a feed line from the person I bought the kit from. I'm thinking it was lost by the company who boxed up and shipped out the kit. I had to buy an oil line from Stan at Fast-turbo.com. His line was smaller than the Speed-craft kit I'm guessing, b/c I had to change out the nipple on the turbo and the oil pressure sensor "T" to a smaller one. I wish I had bought your kit, and had the extra money saved for more problems with tuning/getting the car running right. I got a great deal on my turbo kit, but I guess my luck is starting to run out on the car. I'm already twice my budget. The dyno I think was a dynojet.

Yeah now I wish I would have sold you my kit. But on the bright side, I might be getting the EMS next week if everything goes as plans, anyways, so your car will smoke white smoke even while driving?

I get a little smoke in the morning on start up and occasionally here and there but I can't tell if that is just running rich. I just changed by plugs and they were black and I could smell fuel on them.
