Default Fumoto Oil Valve installed

I did my first oil change last weekend and took the opertunity to install the Fumoto Oil Valve. With my CAI already installed, I should be able to complete subsequent oil changes completely from the top without lifting the car at all.

Unfortunatly my current oil catch pan does not fit under my car. A new drain pan is a SMALL price to pay to not have to jack up the car to change the oil.

More info on the valve (including pix and install instructions) can be found at the link below:

I waited for quite a while to see if there would be any problems, but none so far. I love mine...

I bought one about 15 years ago for a car I had back then, but I never used it because it appears that it does not let you drain the last bit of oil out of the bottom of the oil pan. I admit that this is probably a little anal, but I couldn't get myself to leave that oil in there.

Does this bother you?

Well, my solution for jacking up the car is to drive onto some VERY low ramps to I have clearance for my floor jack. Then jack up the car and support it on stands. To "properly" drain the oil out, I would have open the plug and let all that could drain, drain. Then somhow lower the car to completely level and then let the rest drain out. Then jack it up to get the plug back in.

While this would likely be easier if I just jacked up the one side, it is tight in my garage to get at the side of the car with a jack. That means I will ultimatly get out MORE oil because honestly, I would not drop the car back down.

The drain plug is angled into the pan so the oil that is not drained is minimal at best.

Of course, I can always change the oil more often now because it's SOOO easy.

Yep, I did this last weekend as well. Now I'm looking for a jackstand that will fit under the S2k. Mine starts at 5.5" but I guess I need one that will start at 4.5" or 5" . I'll post once I find one that fits the bill.

I slide the pan underneath, open the valve, then jack up the driver's rear...I doubt there's more than a few cc's of oil in there (not including what's still clinging to the walls).

I've gotten a shorter drain pan, but now I'm looking for a lower-profile jackstand. I can't spend a lot of $$, so I'm probably gonna look at Sears/Walmart/etc..
