Default Help Needed

Just had a call from a board member (I wont say who yet, until he comes online himself) who's had a mishap

Back end spun at about 20 mph, lost it and front left wacked a 10" high curb and mounted it as far as I can tell.

What kinda damage might he need to look for? i.e. what sticks out and stuff?

I'm no technical guru so wouldnt know the answer, any help appreciated

Cheers

Killer, you should PM Luke... I think he did pretty much the same thing in his baby.

If it can drive, go straight to a dealer to check it out. I guess without being able to get under the car/remove the wheel your not going to know for sure what damage their is. Better to be safe.

Time to own up folks. It was I who mounted said curb. I was driving at 20 mph going around a left hand bend at about 11:45pm. Road was slippy without my knowing and back end swung out on me and left front wheel hit the curb.

The tyre blew, and the car slip sideways just before completely ending up on the pavement facing the wrong way.

I am getting the AA out to check her over to make sure she's ok to drive before I get her over to a Honda garage. The front skirt is scuffed, the right hand side sill directly under the door handle took it a bit but she did drive fine. The bonnet was a bit difficult to close but I don't think she's too bad.

Status of car = doesn't appear too bad (but what would I know)
Status of heart = broken

Updates to come as and when i have them

Ok - just been out to look at my baby in the light. I am pretty sure the tracking will need adjusting. The front right wing has a vertical line on it and a little dent where I bumped into a temporary post with a don't walk on the grass sign on it. The sill has scraped on the curb and if u get down on the floor you can see it has some scuffing on it on the bottom.

The underside of the car looks fine so I think most of the damage is cosmetic but Hondacare are going to call me back in 30 minutes. They said they'll get the AA out to me to check it over.

Still heartbroken and da PMW could do with a hug.

Sorry to hear about your prang, Chris

Sophie texted me at 12.30am this morning to see what advice I could offer! About the best I could suggest as an absolute minimum was to get to your dealer ASAP today and ensure that they do a four wheel geometry and alignment check.

I know it's precious little consolation, and I remember just how gutted I felt after I had spun mine into an armco on the M6, but it could have been an awful lot worse - and any accident you walk away from is a "good"one.

Hope your baby is roadworthy again soon.
