Just heard from a friend in regards to a private exclusive for sale - A championship white JDM 96Spec Integra Type R with full 96 personal import compliance ONO, 130000 KMs with Spoon carbon fibre bonnet, Spoon clutch and pressure plate, Spoon front spoiler, Spoon brakes, Spoon air filter and a $20,000.00 TV and custom sound system setup.

Total selling price of $35,000.00 - Test reports confirm car condition to be mint with performance and handling better than brand new export Integra Type Rs ... Does this sound like a good buy? The picture shows a similar outlook, minus the stickers and Spoon bullet mirrors. Any positive comments or negative inputs? I'm contemplating to contest the sale badly.

Does it have the JDM 17" too? And why on earth would you want a TV and sound system!?!??!

35 is expensive for a thrashed car with 1300000kms on it. Just my opinion. Also: are you planning on insuring it? That would be worth finidng out before you buy ... by the sound of things, it'll cost and arm and a leg!

No, they come with 15s standard on the 96Spec ... Full comprehensive insurance is only about $2,500 with a Melbourne Insurer with no problems on that one. While the in-car entertainment is a bit useless I do have to admit, I do agree it is a bit expensive ... Then again, I am still thinking what to do.

2500??? How old are you if you don't mind me asking? And what rating? That seems expensive! (mind you I am paying 4500 for mine, but I am 20 and rating 6).

Also, there are several ITRs for sale for around 35-36k which are a year old and have under 30000 kms on it. It might be more worth-while to buy that and mod it yourself? (ie the carbon-fibre stuff)?

I paid 38750 for mine with 5000kms on it. With Air-con/mats/pedals fitted.

My friend bought his JDM Type R for $24,000, although the dealer claimed it's a 99 car with 50,000km on it, I have my doubts, because the wheels are 4 stud wheels.

That's a 96Spec as well ... The 98Spec has different wheels, same interior as export versions but better sound system ... Automatic folding mirrors and HID lamps. I haven't seen any around as yet.
