The big change, if you can call it that, took place for '02:

No heated seats, TCS or sat/nav as an option. You can do them all aftermarket and there are several posts on how to do it.

Yes, there are differences in the MY of the S2000. For the most part 00-01 are the same 02-03 are the same and the 04 is an 04.

Differences in the 00-01 are standard options like floor mats and aero screen are standard on the 01 but options on the 00.

02-03 have a different ECU from the 00-01, door tweeters, more power output from the headunit, glass rear window with defrost, chrome rings around the tail-lights, seat level changed, etc.

There are tons of posts on the differences, use the search for more details.

no that is incorrect the new changes took place in the '02 models. '02 models are known to generally dyno a little better then the 00-01.

Buying from a dealer can have its advantages and disadvantages. I would recommend posting over in the UK forum and ask for some assistance there. It's a good group of people and you shouldn't have any trouble getting help.

You can tell the '99s from the rest.
The '99s are all right hand drive and only sold in Japan and perhaps the rest of the Asian market.

The '96 is my favorite.
