Default buying a car through ganley honda.......

hey guys,

i've been dealing with jeff and brian over at ganley honda in regards to purchasing a loaded up 2004 S2000.

i will be importing this car to canada (i live in toronto).

they've been awesome in terms of price, communication, willingness to let someone buy a car over the phone, etc...

they should be getting the inbound car soon.

i'm waiting to have the VIN # cleared by the canadian authorities (should be today), before i drop a deposit - if the VIN# doesn't clear, i can't do it.

i'm doing this because they haven't brought silverstone to canada since 2001, and i want to be able to use the hardtop from my '00......that, and the fact that it's WAYYYY cheaper due to the stronger canadian dollar

i sold my car to a fellow board member here in toronto.

just wanted to share....any thoughts??

regards,
nimesh

Check to see if Honda will honor the warranty. A friend of mine bought on 04 SL here and brought it to Toronto and MB will not honor the warranty. They said if he was forced to move there from the states, then they would honor the warranty, but since he made the choice to buy it here, no covereage.

david1,

no, i'm aware there is no warranty...i've accepted that fact.

in the 3.5 years and 90K i put on my '00, i had very few warranty claims.....so, i decided (in my mind, and to myself) not to make it an issue as part of the decision-making process.

thanks though...

yes. i've met jeff before. he's very knowledgable and seems very laid back. enjoy your '04. rumor has it that the new 2.2 motor is significantly underrated.
