Default enhancing bass 101

If I wanted to enhance bass - why would the following not be a reasobable choice - I feel like I am jumping in over my hear - eg having installed compnents speakers in door last night wondering if I made a good enough choice with ros 6214U

Seeing is believing

no reason that i immediately see would make this a unreasonable choice. but then again, i've never heard it or used it...

there are a number of threads for people who tried the basslink -- you might want to hit the search a bit and see what they said.

I am also considering this, does it fit cleenly inside one of the corner pockets of a stook? Or do you just kinda have to deal with an awqward mounting? Can you post some pics? The other problem is, since I mentioned this product, alot of my buds are planning on getting this also, and I always have to out do them. But I really have no other options, this is my daily driver so giving up the center depression for the sub and spare tire are just out of the question.

http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/431
$189 and $229

http://www.infinitecaraudio.com/cgi-bin/ic...alogno=BASSLINK
$220

http://www.sounddomain.com/shoplist~b~Infi...osed+Subwoofers
$249 and $289

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-yTF7kUUnBbb/c...search=Basslink
$350 and $400

i'd buy it from www.sounddomain.com and get them to pricematch one of the others.

A few things to know about the basslink from someone who has heard/tried/installed them extensively.

Pros.....great for space.

THATS IT!

Cons....

Distortion heaven at med-high volumes.

Low power to keep in a trunk....a hatchback is decent

No possible upgrading.

Not worth the money.

I am getting a new sub (Eclipse) and my 400+ watt RMS amp cost me about 400 bucks.

And the bass will be uncomparable.

Plus, everyone knows how I feel about class D amplifiers. If you want it done, do it right. Id get a nice 8", WLAURENTS enclosure, and a nice amp, and have nice, tight, deep, crapfree bass.

However, if you want something to just make a bassnote present, I guess its ok.

I for one, do not recommend one. Just my .02

P.S. Yes, a basslink is made to be used with stock stereos. (it gets feed from the speaker wire)

i don't htink it would sound too good in the S but we did put one in a friends and jeep and it did a pretty good job in there but she's no audiophile and just wanted to increase bass a little bit.

Like I said......it IS better than nothing, but that doesnt mean its great. Also, it sounded ok in your friends jeep because it was IN the cockpit. When a basslink is in the trunk, it's really weak.
