Woo-hoo -- count me in +1 -- I think we'll make a weekend of it and finish Christmas shopping (oops -- we may have to drive the cherokee and the S2k to haul all the stuff) Could one of you kind folks in the area there recommend a nice hotel for me? Is there a Marriott or Holiday Inn Select near where all this is happening?
One more question: My daughter (18) and one of her friends is thinking of coming along -- would you guys object if a mustang tags behind for the light tour? They will NOT be participating in the spirited drive part -- Both of them are college freshmen and probably just want to gawk at sailors or something .

Does that mean you guys want to cut out the Colonial Parkway part?

Because where that ends is just about where the Newport News Celebration in Lights begins....

Not be a party pooper, but colonial is not spirited. (1) BOAT LOADS of cops (2) not very twisty but its a nice drive. I'll guess that we can do 10-15 over. Also, the tour through downtown might be out of the way, since we will be comming back on 64, we could just head to Va Beach.

We'll just got off at Terminal/Hampton Blvd and shoot on through Downtown Norfolk. You suggested Colonial Pkwy, so do you have another idea Steve?

We can do something along with Colonial because Colonial goes straight to the lights - or so Dan says.
