Just how fast is a Top Fuel Dragster?
This was sent to me by a friend. I don't know much about Top Fuel dragsters but if it is accurate, damn:
A lesson in acceleration:

First, some useful info:
* One Top Fuel dragster 500 cubic inch Hemi engine makes more horsepower
than the first 4 rows at the Daytona 500.
* Under full throttle, a Top Fuel dragster engine consumes 1

Yep thats accurate. They didn't include that they make ~6000hp. There is also no dyno in the world that can handle a top fuel dragster engine. They figure out the horsepower by the trap speed in the 1/4 mile, and the weight of the car.
I went to the NHRA event at Englishtown last spring. Those things are amazing, you can feel the sounds they make... it shakes your entire chest cavity. The smell of the fuel and the orange haze coming out of the headers in intoxicating.
What was particularly cool was watching the runs from the far end of the track... the tree turns green, you see the exhaust fumes... about a second later you heard the noise, and about a second and a half after that the cars were already flying past. Very cool stuff!

They also only have one gear and are spinning the tires the entire way down the track. I don't remember the amount of downforce the big ole wing produces but it is a huge amount at 300+ mph.
with 6000 HP and HWD (Huge Wheel Drive), a dragster would definitely get the jump on us off the line, and likely pull on us by several aircraft carrier lengths.
but i think we could take them in the twisties.

and I think they don't fully engage the clutch instead of shifting
