Default Question regarding aftermarket header + tuning

I have a general question about after market headers.
Should one expect maximum gains by just bolting on an after market header, or is proper tuning required to extract the max. potential of the header.

Most if not all aftermarket headers have shown little or no real gain in power. Certainly none have shown power gains beyond what a normal varience in dyno runs could produce. The only real advantage is you can save some weight. As Colin Chapman once said. "If you want to add performance add lightness"

Wow talk about just spewing out anything you want to make a point.

Spoon, Toda, Mugen have all show repeatable gains on dynos.

I dunno, the dyno graph on the RS*R header is enough proof for me! Newsflash-some of them DO add power.

George, you're WAY off on this one. Mugen shows repeatable gains up top, I believe the Spoon was more low and mid-range power (although don't quote me on that one), and the Toda showed some nice overall gains (my choice). All easily repeatable and well over the limits of dyno statistical error.

I think you got it the other way around Mac.
The Mugen has been proven to improve midrange (4-->2-->1 design) while the Spoon is better for high end (4-->1 design).

For those with aftermarket headers that have dynos, could you please post some results for comparison?

so...if this header was developed to out-perform all of the other headers...does this mean all the other headers are crap?

Dynojet 4th gear pull.
Slightly cooler weather, but SAE corrected.
Been going back to the same place/same operator all 3 times.

*for reference*
w/t 4IG intake

w/t Fujitsubo Exhaust

What header is "this"? DC Sports? It is definitely not a Toda or Mugen.

*EDIT* I see now that it IS a Toda. How upsetting.

I'm not surprised.
