Default My new T1R exhaust vs Mugen

Just got my new T1R exhaust installed. Here's my impression compare to the Mugen that I used to have.

My old setup:
Mugen intake
T1R header
T1R test pipe
Mugen exhaust 60mm split to 40mm piping

New setup:
Mugen Intake
T1R Header
T1R test pipe
T1R exhaust (single outlet) 63mm piping

From 1000-3000rpm, the Mugen seems to have better acceleration, however starting at 4000rpm with the T1R exhaust the car pulls a lot stronger. VTEC pull from 6000-9000 , it's a night and day difference !!! I thought my car is one of the weakest built F20C, but now I feel that my car has much more power, so it doesn't seem like it anymore.

Soundwise, the T1R is much louder than the Mugen but quieter then Spoon , J's or Buddyclub. With the silencer, it sounded so much quiet like Mugen.

Here's some pics for it.

The T1R system weight only 29 lbs including b-pipe , test pipe and muffler. Very decent IMO.

is it just me or does 29lbs sound like a lot for a single? even when it has Ti in it i know its just the tip but still. my J's is only 13lbs. so when you say its not as loud as the ones you named with silencer. how loud is it without compaired to the J's? thats what i have so thats why i ask that one. thanks

any melting issues so far? that tip looks kinda close to the bumper and assume you put that insulation there for it correct?

29 lbs including the shipping box , nuts , bolts and gaskets and silencer. So I think it is not that heavy as for a single outlet exhaust.

Without silsencer the T1R (stock cat) is at least 20%-30% quieter. I mean when I had the silencer on, it is only slightly bit louder than Mugen

I have been booting it for a few days and there is no melting or anything. That heat tape on it was from the time when I try out my friends' Amuse R1

I see that you're quite fascinated with dynoes, but truth is, it is extremely difficult to compare anything on a dyno. It is best used for things like VAFC tuning.
