Default Ultimate Lurker+TOV+Honda's 2004= Conspiracy Theory????

Ultimate Lurker+TOV+Honda's 2004= Conspiracy Theory???? The answer is NO. NO. NO. Let me say that I do not know this man well, or do I speak to him much in my 2 1/2 years on S2ki, but I must say, the results speaks for itself. Here is my car w/ 700+ miles on it, Vtec-ing at 500 miles moderately and full Vtec at 625 miles.

I am not a expert, nor know ANYTHING about dynos and the ways it works, but I do know numbers. I've have seen the collections of S2000 that he has done (many S2000 of <My03) and the numbers are consistent with 215-220 WHP on the previous models w/ the dynopack.

My numbers on my car were 245-242 WHP. This tells you something. There is an increase in power.

Now, Yes, I have heard that the Dynopack puts out higher numbers, but that is irrelevant. Because you take a Consistant Numbers of My02-03 and MY04 and subtract them, you will get a consistent number of 25+/- (1-2) WHP.

Lastly, I am an owner of My01 and My04. There is NO DOUBT that the 04' Pulls harder and faster. How much, I do not know. One thing I do realize is, I miss my 9000-9200 Redline. Shifting is not as fun as it was before, but the power and low end has compromise for the 1000RPM loss.

This test has been "Free" of charge, and I believe it was well worth it on my part and his part. Lets close the "Conspiracy" theory about Ultimate Lurker, Honda's Press cars, UL's hired by Honda to advertised their cars, etc etc and any other theory.

Please no flames. The Dyno Sheet will be provided as soon as it hits TOV.

Here is a short summary of TOV:

Well, its taken us two months to find a broken in consumer car (read bought at a dealer by a normal consumer) that would take us up on our offer of a free dyno test. Many thanks to "Backcracker" of S2Ki.com fame (and many Orange County parties) for letting TOV test his car.

Since the substitution of a new ECU and retest of the press car was not enough to completely dispel the rumors of a ringer, TOV put Backcracker's car on the Dynapack at Church Automotive Testing to see if it would produce anywhere close to the hp of the press car. Just in case you'd forgotten, or skipped directly to this page, the press car put down 243 whp vs. 212-220 whp for the previous year S2000s (the 00-01's put down 212-214, the 02-03's 215-220).

With the beautiful white on tan 04 bolted to the dyno, intake and coolant temps were checked, 4th gear was engaged and 2 passes were made. The results? 245 and 243 whp. All with about 700 miles on the odometer.

Dyno plots posted this afternoon!!

Backcracker has promised to bring back his car when it has more mileage (we tested the press car at 1000 and 2000 miles), but suffice it to say, the 04 does produce more power than the previous models, and certainly more than its 240 hp rating from Honda would suggest. Happy motoring.

I couldn't wait for the computer Dyno sheet so here is a "picture" of the dyno sheets. Sorry if its blurry.

The green line/Green Box is the "American Honda" press car, and the Red line/yellow box is my car.

UL has been doing Hondas since I can remember. He was an "OG" when I was first starting, which was 94`ish. Nobody should question his integrity. The Honda Community could use a few more enthusiasts like him.

Thanks for being the Guinea Pig on this one.

Though I am sure some people are still not going to believe the numbers.

I agree and that's a shame. But at least we know that's S2000 was not a ringer, and more powerful.

Guinea Pig was alright, knowing I got more horses
