Default Speedventures Challenge Series rule change proposal

I think it would be a positive rule change for SV challenge series if the time used for the challenge series was changed from being the single best lap of the day to the sum of a person's three best laps. This would reward consistency while avoiding the possibility of losing due to someone having a single stellar lap (this happened to me ).

I'm okay with that; like OTC. BTW, I've gotten more consistent, so I'll still beat you .

Hmmm...aside from my personal reaction of "Bleh" because it means reprogramming a buch of stuff on the site / database, I'm thinking about it and not ready to reply yet

Thought I should at least say something so you wouldn't be wondering what was up...

Either way is fine with me John. Having the single best time gives you the adrenalin rush to go back out and let it all out for that one special lap, but three best may be more reflective of overall relative performance.

ooh while we're making john rewrite the code how about points for the fastest lap of the day that go to your yearly score but your offical placement of the day is by 3 lap average.

How about points based on the average of the best 3 laps plus 1 bonus point for fastest single lap. Their should be something for turning the fastest lap in class since it is a worthwhile accomplishment.

Also how about basing the series points on say the best 8 results rather than accumulated points for all events. Other wise the guy who goes to every event and gets 3rd in each is going to beat the guy who goes to 8 events and wins every one. Not all of us can make it to every event. Maybe add one point for attendance.

So? Not all of us can win every event

I agree with slick rick that it's getting a bit NASCARish, but so far it sounds good (not including points for attending... that's just lame)
