Default MY04 front on my MY02-help?

So everything is now connected and secure-2004 front fascia, wheel well liners, bumper foam, optional front spoiler and front lower splash shield.

Question: Has anyone else that has done this swap noticed two "points" poking through the fascia in front of each headlight? I can only assume it may be the bumper beam tips..Do I need to take everything apart again anf grind down the tips, or is it only unique to my car?

Thanks in advance.

I've put an 04 bumper on my '01 and i'm not really clear on what you are talking about (maybe post some pics). I know that the "shelf" in front of the headlights is a bit deeper, but i think that is just how it is designed. But i do not have anything poking through.

Well it looks like a "nipple" on each shelf-as if there was a bolt or something under the shelf. Its not really "poking through" as I stated, more like pressing against the underside of the shelf-however it is in the same location left and right side....

If nobody else has this problem, I am afraid it may have something to do with the brake ducts I made for the "fake vents" on the side. Though they fit perfectly, it may be too "snug" and cause some stretching of my fascia over the bumper beam....So your "shelf"s are perfectly smooth with no "ripples" in the reflections?

It is the bumper frame that is hitting the bumper. Actually it is the points of the bumper frame that are doing it.

Hmmm...maybe the body shop that painted mine filed them or whatnot. Or is there a difference between the 01 and 02+ bumper frame?

^ It seems like there IS a difference b/n the 00-01 and 02-03 models in this regard, since neither you nor saV had this fitment problem...right?

I am putting mine on next week, so I'll let you know.

fperra, did you get the 04 fender liners, or did you stay w/your OEMs? Also, can you explain what you mean when you say they do not fit perfectly?

Thx.
