Just Some Things I Thought I Would Share
I'm sure some of you remember that people were dicked around because of the whole membership deal and one of the argument was that people couldn't put things in their sigs anymore. The defence from the site management was basically that "Hey, if you want to have a big ass sig, pay up or shut up."
This is not the reason I joined memeber. I liked how the more mature people in the bunch handled the things and thought I should contribute finanacially as well. And since I'm a paying member now, I thought I'd utilize the sig area to list the mods I have done and because of it a lot of people ask me about my experience and I'm happy to help them make the right decisions.
A few hours ago I just received a PM from Ludedude "politely" telling me to chop my sig. I've been busy these days because a family member just passed away so I only came to reply some PMs because I posted a FS thread today. I didn't mean to ignore him or anything and I was going to do something about it later. You know, important things always go first.
And just a while ago I got this:
I asked you once nicely to reduce the size of your sig but you seem to think I'm kidding. If you don't want to do it, I'll do it for you but you'll probably be unhappy with it when it's done.
Please make it smaller now.
I felt that was kind of rude and I didn't like it at all.
What do you guys think?

If it's smaller is makes reading easier. I don't agree. I think wide ones are the ones that make reading hard. Anyway, I'm not against that, but how they keep changing the rules because they can. If they made up something, they should stick with it.
Besides, my sig was organized and clean, not some very flashy graphics that take forever to load and hurts the eye or something.

I think you ignored his first request and I'd consider the second to be a promise that if you didn't he would remove it for you.
Go make a thread with all your mods somewhere like in S2K Talk. Post all your mods, pictures what ever you want. Then link to that thread in your signature. I saw your signature following the first message. it was at least 50 lines long.
When a moderator asks you to comply with something it's not an invitation to debate it. If you want to open a debate about signature size and content do it here. The moderator is enforcing the rules. If you want to change the rules then discuss it in this forum with those who can change them (me, krazik and HondaGal). You still must comply with whatever the rule is now however.
Anything that takes up more than 2 inches of my vertical screen space is too big and will be flagged.

It was 34 lines, to be exact. Dictator eh? Hyperbole is the most immature form of debating.
And did you even read my post? my family member passed away for god's sake and it was supposed to be my responsibility to deprive myself of the right I paid for first? How do you know I ignored whatever thing he sent me? What do you have to base that assumption on?
Besides, that's not what I was uncomfortable about. It was the fact that you guys said "pay up or stfu if you want a big fat sig" to those who weren't members.
Like I said that is not the reason I joined but since I paid I thought maybe I can use the space.

sorry to hear that a family member passed.
here is my $0.02,
the mod should give time for the member to respond after the first request.
after reading the first request and no responding does not mean the request was ignore. maybe after sending a second request with a reasonable response time would be consider ignore. then the mod should fix the problem if the member does not respond.
the same thing happan to me. i had a pic that is large in my sig and was ask by krazik to remove the pic. i respond quickly saying i will do it but need time to learn how to re-size and at the time i was on 56k and a old computer. soon later the pic was gone. i could not find that pic again to put back in my sig. i was piss. i see others with pics with pics but it was close to the same size, maybe mine was just a bit big, but not much.

I think that if you're paying for a membership, then you should be able to put whatever the hell you want in your sig. I don't mind people having big signatures, but i do have to admit, it does get annoying at sometimes when i'm going through a thread and i see a big ass sig every few lines of scrolling. But hey, if they're paying for it, why should i complain? Their money is helping the forum run the way it is running today (i think?). Honestly, I don't think you should even have to pay for a memership. Doesn't the webforum get enough money from advertisers to run the forum? This is the first webforum i know of that has different level of memberships. Most forums are free and create a sense of equality between each member.
Thats just my $.02 anyways.

JL should have been given sufficient time to comply what was requested. Given it is not an urgent matter, a time frame of couple days would have been appropriate, before a follow-up firm request. It is an overreaction in the moderator's part - a pretty minor thing in my book, though I understand how JL would be upset.
I believe that sig. should be in a reasonable length (pic, text, or otherwise), even just for sake of common coutesy if nothing else.
