S2000 v. Mustang Mach 1. chalk one up for the little guy!
so, i'm sitting at a stop light, enjoying the nice weather we're having in AZ and feeling frisky when a new Mach 1 pulled up beside me. older guy. looked like he was feeling frisky as well so we both gunned it from the light. he had me by about a nose length when i hit VTEC and launched into my own bit of fun, made up that nose length and another for the win before he backed off the gas. i wasn't looking at the speedo, but i think we were doing about 70 at that time.
now, i told the wife i didn't stand a chance before we launched, even with the setup i'm running ... well, not until i get my 4.77's in next week. so i was a wee bit surprised at how i won, esp considering he was alone in his car, and i had both my wife and my weight to pull around (well, the wife's only another 100 lbs, but we ain't got too much torque).
in any case, i'm feeling good about myself, and wanted to share with you all.

huh. i guess i underestimated myself. no, i'm far from stock. but i'm a little paranoid about launching my car until i get my reinf. diff. in since i know there's a lot of extra stress in that area from running FI.

i did. with my non-aggressive launch, it was a good car length and some change at about 70 mph. i have a new found respect for VTEC since he was virtually standing still once i hit 6k.
