Default Integra to S2000

Hi all,

I have a modified (chipped, better exhaust and induction kit) Honda Integra Type R which I love. However, today, I traded it in for a new (03 model though) S2000.

Tell me I've made no mistake, please!

Anyone care to tell me what I'll like and dislike over my Integra with my S2000?

Thanks

Dave

p.s. I don't get my new S2000 till Thursday/Friday :-(

You did test drive the S?

Hope you got a very good price on the 03.

Gear change on the S is very good, similar to the 'teg.

More power and rwd, so will not be as forgiving as the 'teg, treat with respect, especially in the wet/damp.

You will love dropping the top at every opportunity.

Just like the 'teg the S is still a rare sight on the roads.

You haven't made a mistake at all.

I went from the ATR to the S and do not regret it.

The countdown begins!

I had an ITR before the S2000 (though had a scoob in between)

The ITR is a very different beast, I could drive the ITR on the ragged edge and never really felt it would bite me, I cant do that in the S2000, the pleasures are different - good but different. The S2000 is ultimately faster off the line and at higher speeds - I drag raced my mates s2k at lemans many times to prove it!

The S2k ofcourse is much poseyer and is ace in the summer

I seem to remember Brian Marshall having serious misgivings when he swapped his Teg for an S2000, and he did have some unfortunate early issues with the S. He ended up being an entirely happy rabbit though.

I think the change to RWD is something you shouldn't under-estimate. Take your time before you really try to extract the power and you'll love it.

I would say that your only disappointment will be the wet weather performance. If this is your first rwd make sure you give yourself time to learn the car .

Have a look in the important info thread at the top of the board for tech faq, wet handling advice etc etc

And finally make sure you get your name down for the Nland/Jock meet advertised in my sig

..........was thinking about this.........I've never actually driven a 'performance' FWD car......amazingly enough....my Scirocco was only 118bhp....mind you it seemed plenty at the time

From what I read the transition from a performance FWD to RWD sounds considerable

I'd just say take it easy......but having said that in my opinion the S2k will self correct anyway unless you get it really wrong

Hi, and welcome to the board. I can tell you that you have definitely not made a mistake.

Make sure you read all the info in the IMPORTANT & useful information thread at the top of the page, (especially the Winter driving advice).
Do NOT be tempted to find the limits until it's dry, you're guaranteed to go offroading. (I did after 2 months )

We should be having another JockMeet in the next few weeks. You'll enjoy yourself.

Need more info.
New or used?
If used what year?
colour?
and most important of all pics. Which you'll need to buy a membership for

Again welcome, and hope to see you around soon.

I'm not sure everyone is as confident going sideways as you are zero - I know I'm not.

For anyone coming to performance RWD for the first time, I would reiterate what others have said above - discretion is definitely the batter part of valour with the S.

Be sensible and work your way in gradually and you'll be fine - let all that power go to your head and go mental straightaway, and you may end up on the Carper mishap list rather quickly.

(You don't need to hammer the car to enjoy it anyway - although it does help
)

Oh... and get along to a scotmeet pronto.
We are a very sensible bunch - we never drive when its flooding or snowy, and we never crash our cars
