will test pipe increase performance on N/A S2000
I just recently purchased a Greddy Emange(with O2 simulator) and T1R test pipe to add to MYS.....I allready have an AEM cai...Toda Header....Spugen Titanium dual...ect......I figured since I was going to do a dyno tune day this would be a good time to get rid of the cat....
I have allready done a search and mostly came back with alot of questions regarding the CEL....what I really want to know is how this will effect my cars performance? What if any HP gains will I see.....Some local guys I spoke with said I will loose alot of low end power, but gain some power in the top end.....is this true?...I dont want to loose much power at the low end since I autox the car......The car is N/A right now, I am considering a SC in the future but I am more concerned with the effects a testpipe will have on my current setup.....
If anyone has a dyno showing before and after a testpipe install that would be very helpful, along with any advice......

On your current setup, you should lose a noticeable amount of power below vtec with minimal gains above vtec.. It's not worth it. Your autocross times will definitely be slower with the test pipe if all else is consistent.

I have one on my S, and it seemed to make the VTEC transition smoother, and makes it sound a lot better, but be ready to clean you bumper with 3m rubbing compound regularly, b/c it will turn it yellow.

Generally speaking, on a small-displacment NA motor, a test pipe will result in some negligible top end gains at the cost of low-to-mid range losses. I had a test pipe on my last car, and while I never dyno'd it, it felt quicker/more responsive in the higher rpm's at high speed. I never noticed the low/mid loss UNTIL I put a cat back on it, and then I IMMEDIATLEY noticed more response/power at lower rpm's.
imo, a test pipe on an NA small displacement motor is not worth it unless you're planning on going turbo in the future. The gains up top are not worth the low/mid losses.
