Default Chicago-land Meet #1 restaurant review

I'm starting this thread so that we can add our opinions regarding our dining hosts from our meets.

Hopefully it can serve us as a tool as to where we should and should not meet for upcoming events, and as a tool for personal dining decisions when we're out with our families, gf's, friends, etc.

For those of you that attended, please add your thoughts so others can get more than just my opinion.

Meet #1

We started at Hooters:

Host/hostess:
They were very friendly in welcoming us in, taking our names, and ushering us in. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best), they get an 8.5

Pre-seating activities:
Not much room at the wide-open bar. We were given a 10-minute wait, ended up being over 20 minutes. Even the bartenders were quite slow getting to our group of people at the bar; the bar wasn't that busy. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best), they get a 3.5

Seating:
Again wait was far too long. With the expectation of a 10 minute wait being set and the slow service from the bar maids, this ruined the experience at the Schaumburg Hooters for me...in fact, we ended up moving to another restaurant. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best), they get a 0.

Wait staff:

Dining experience/food:

Overall rating: 3.0

We ended up at Fuddruckers in Schaumburg.

Host/hostess:
None to speak of. You usher yourself into line to order as entering the restaurant. No score.

Pre-seating activities:
None to speak of. You order and seat yourself.

Seating:
Very open seating area. The dining room is informal and "fun" environment to be loud in. Not as clean as I usually like my dining experience, not to say that it was dirty and had rats running around. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the best), I rate them at a 7.

Wait staff:
None to speak of. You order and pick up food yourself. However, the manager occasionally walks around to ask how everything is and generally wants to make sure that you are doing fine. I appreciate these gestures immensely.

Dining experience/food:
The food was very good. The company at the table was great. I like that I can top the burger and side orders myself...I'm quite picky and I hate being a bother to my waiter/waitress. However, with places like this, the restaurant has to make sure that the food that I'm topping is very good to begin with. Fuddruckers does NOT disappoint. Very good burgers, not Red Robin great, but good nonetheless. They also serve some of the best tasting onion rings I've had in IL.

BTW, I ordered a 1/3lb. Chipotle BBQ Burger, a medium side of fries, and a coke.

On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being the best), I rate them at 8.0.

Overall rating: 8.0

Why would you pay more and order a BBQ burger when you can get the BBQ sauce for free on the "condiment buffet" line??

Review:

Pros:

- Order yourself, pay for yourself!
- No tip needed
- Great food!!
- Casual Enviorment
- Need a refill? No waiting, get your ass up and get it whenver you want.
- Customizing of your burger the way you want it.
- Decent Parking lot.

Cons:

- Not as clean as most, but very minor problem.

Overall: 8.4444445

Wow....from the dead.

I liked the idea of the restaurant reviews....I think there was more than just this one, wasn't there?

Maybe we should start this again?
