Default 500 miles on the ODO and hit VTEC

I know I'm supposed to keep it under 6000 but I accidently went over for a second or two. Shouldn't be that bad right?

BTW, I thought there was supposed to be a pretty good kick from it. It didn't feel that strong to me. I could tell I got in VTEC from the change in engine sound though.

Your engine is definetly gonna blow!!!!!

Kidding, no biggie, I tapped VTEC a few times before 600 miles.

Get another 100 miles than drive it around between 6-8K and you'll see what we are talking about.

If you gradually venture into VTEC you're not going to notice a big change. Now mash the throttle and hit VTEC then come back and tell us what you felt

Pmantis is right, part of the VTEC engagement is throttle position so mash it.

the last built motor I worked on, brand new sleeves, pistons, EVERYTHING was new.

We let it idle for 20 minutes, we drove it down the block and revved the PISS out of it. Did an oil change, drove to the dyno, engine made more than 20 pulls that day. Put down good #'s too. What're you're doing is not even overkill, it's pointless.

Going too easy on a motor can do more bad than good. Why buy such torqueless, mid-range-less, weak ass motors if you're not going to take it to at least 8k everyday ?

The owner's manual says 5500, not 6000. So you've probably gone over numerous times.

i stayed below 5500 rpms most of the time up to 600mi. then after that i have since hit the VTEC a couple times... im at 1200 mi now, i think its time to let loose all the time!

i even hit the rev limiter the other nite, whew, gotta watch out for VTEC in first gear! it will pop your speed up fast as hell
