Default Window not rolling down when puttin top down?

I got my car back from the bodyshop on Thurs. The car was there for a repair on the hit-n-run on the rear L bumper and rear L quarter panel.

I didn't bother putting the top down until Fri afternoon. That's when I noticed that when I put the top down, the driver's side window either goes a down a quarter of the way, OR half-way, OR it doesn't go down at all (stays roll up). The passenger's fine.

I remember seeing this specific thread long time ago on how to fix this situation, something to do with resetting? The cause was apparently when someone decided to put the top down halfway, release the top-down switch, and then press on the top-down switch again. I can't seem to find the how-to-fix thread. Can someone point me to it?

Seks there is a TSB for this. A lot of us had the same problem and it is completely covered under warranty. The regulator needs to be replaced. Take it in.

Try this....

with the window up, hold the window button down while the window is going fully down. Let go, then hold it for about 5 seconds then let go again. then raise it back up. once it's up let go and then hold the button to up for about 5 seconds again. I'm pretty sure this is the method to reset the window. I did this to mine and it worked like a charm. Still going strong....

the regulator needs to be replaced, but there is a defect in the design, and eventually you'll have the problem again. emc2 sells autoloc's that bypass the window regulator and let your autodown work.

^ That would be nice. Some of us have had the regulator replaced under warrenty only to have it crap out again soon after the warrenty expires. I'm one.

I highly recommend the Auto-loc modules that emc2 has for sale. He got a ton of them a year ago at a great discount. I think your price (delivered) is $25 each instead of the retail $40 plus shipping. They not only permanently (and safely) fix the auto-down issue but give you auto-up as well. I liked them so much I bought a set for my wife's Accord.

Make sure they use part number 72250-S2A-A03 (just remember it ends with a "3").

I had mine replaced and it has not failed since.
