Fun roads near Glen Rose!
Well I made it out to Granbury, Glen Rose and the Dinosaur Valley State Park with the S2K. My first "real" drive out of the city. There were a lot of nice twisties in the area and it "seemed" like not many people in Granbury area had seen an S2000 before. It was during the 4th of July celebration and I counted at least 5 different times people asking me "what kind of car is that"?
The town square there is fairly entertaining, with home cooking style restaurants, an opera house and shopping. There was also a Yellow NSX parked near me with a gunshot in the driver's door. As I was leaving he yelled out nice color and I asked what happened to his door. He yelled out "jealous husband". Upon leaving the lot I found out it was one of those fake gunshot holes you can buy at Spencer's. Had me fooled.
The best twisties I found were from Granbury take 144 South to Glen Rose then on 67 head west to Dinosaur State Park, then take the FM 205 exit which takes you to the Dinosaur Park. If you bypass the state park and stay on FM 205, you will eventually come to FM or state hwy 51 and take a left (which runs back into Hwy 67). FM 205 and 51 were many miles of twisties with barely 1 or 2 cars and very few residences. Definitely the best drive I've had so far with the S2000. Got "interesting" on some of those corners. Here is a map of these roads from MapQuest. It would be a nice group drive for a Saturday or Sunday.
