Default Help, hellp, help! Seat belt!

Okay...this will have to go down with the stupidest thing anyone could ever do!

Okat, so I strapped a new PC in the passanger seat and when I undid the seatbelt the dang thing wrapped itself around the arm that slides the seat back and forth...of course when it went back it was in ratchet mode and is now locked so tight that I can't even put the seat back forward or slide the seat forward or get my seatbelt back. There's got to be some way to manually release the seatbelt or someway to get to where the seat belt bolts to the frame to take it off.

So...does anyone have any ideas????

Stupid PC!!!

Fast in reverse and slam on the brakes? yikes!

Can you remove the belt from the guide, or remove the guide from the side of the seat to get a inch or so of slack?

I've never seen it get that tight, J. I can't even really picture what you've done, so sorry no advice. As Justin asked, can you get the belt out of the guide? That should give you some play.

Hello all,

I appreciate all your help, but just let me explain in more detail the issue I have! The seatbelt is completely out of the guide and slid all the way down the 6" long shaft of the seat adjustment arm. I would need 6" or more of slack to get it off and that much slack to have it retrct far enough to release again. I can't unbolt the bottom of the seat belt as in order to get to that bolt you need to slide the seat forward which is impossible at this point as the seat belt is holding the seat all the way back, which of course also denies me the opertunity to remove the seat as you also can't get to the rear seat bolts either. Just to add to the wonderful situation you also can't remove the seat adjustment arm as it rivited to the seat...GREAT!!! So, "Justin" sent me a 00-03 shop manual over the web last night and I tok the day off, so it appears as though I'll betearing apart the whole inside of my car inorder to get the rollbar interior piece off to get that side of the seatbelt off. It looks like a day project...maybe not, but I'd much rather do it then send it to the dealer and have them scratch the hell out of my interior pieces. SO wish me luck and I'll be taking pictures all the way so I can show how this is all done...in case anyone is curious how their whole interior comes apart. I'm think I may just leave it apart for a while as it will leave me more options of wire placement when my windscreen gets back from "Macgyver". So wish me luck...I'll need it as from what I've seen this is not going to be fun as one of the first things you're suposed to do is remove the seat, which of course is not an option for me...so...I guess here goes nothing. I'll also make sure to get a good picture of what the seatbelt looks like in its current perdicument. I think Honda should really rethink locking seatbelt for the passanger as the only time you would ever need one is if you were to put a child seat in the car and we all know unless you pay $400.00 and go through the highway safety admnistration and get the passanger airbag shutoff switch instaled...you can't leagally put a child in the front seat anyway!!!!

Go figure!!!

I guess I'll need a picture, J, to understand this (I know you've tried to explain it).

Good luck.

Well I will share my problem I had years ago. The seat belt locked up and as I let it retract it would lock. Let it go back more.........and lock and so on. Eventually I had to cut the belt. It was the only way I could get the seat out. Honda replaced the malfunctioning retractor and the belt(though didn't charge me could have). Not a fun time. Especially when I saw all the guts of my car on the ground and a fat man sitting on the door sil with a manual of how to take appart the car.
