Coilovers
I dunno Ry... I'm not a big fan of my JICs anymore because I've had some problems with them and JIC has not really stood behind them. But they're still a huge improvement over stock.
Now that Buddy Club has a US office in SoCal, they might be a good option for a lot of people. I saw a GB recently where someone was selling the Racing Spec Dampers for $1100. I think that's a lot of bang for the buck. Granted, it's not going to be anything like a JRZ/Moton/Ohlins/Penske setup, but it's still a hell of a lot better than stock and a hell of a lot cheaper than than the "good" dampers.

Had quirky problem with my JIC. Turns out a strut was leaking fluid
JIC did warranty it for me for free with a fast turn around (I had them on my car for about 9 mos, but believe they were blown when I got them)
sold them to a show-only friend. Thinking about buddy club. My ground controls definitely aren't better then stock.

You know, the single adjustable JRZ shocks are only a bit over $2K. Personally, I think just about everyone would be better off using JRZ singles with stock springs than the crappy japanese coilovers. (alright alright, I know I was asking about them but now I've driven a few cars and am convinced... and am sticking with my JRZ singles)
You can run them with stock springs and lower the perches a tad (and trim the stops accordingly) if you really want the lowered look and the marginally better turn in from a lower center of gravity.
