Default Motive Products Power Bleeder Users?

Hi All,

Has anybody had good or bad experience with the "Motive Products Power Bleeder" (www.motiveproducts.com)? Searching on the subject yielded an interesting product called a "Speed Bleeder," but the Power Bleeder looks pretty interesting for only $50. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think the motive has a fitting for Honda master cylinders...

Check out the following link for a do-it-yourself version of a pressure bleeder for about $25. This was written originally for BMW M's, so you will have to substitute a Honda master cylinder cap... probably way more expensive than the $5 GM cap.

Thanks for the link pfb! This guy's kludge looks like it would work exactly like the Power Bleeder.

Re: Motive cap for Honda. Yeah...after closer inspection of the Universal Power Bleeder, it looks like the cap just sits on the reservoir opening and the additional hardware simply loops around holds the cap on tight. I don't know...I think I'd prefer a properly-fitting cap over a set-up like this.

BTW, have you had any experience with a pressure-type bleeder vs. a suction-type bleeder?

Thanks again!

I've never used a pressure bleeder, but with speed-bleeders, the job is pretty damn easy...

by far, the hardest part of the job is getting the car jacked up and the wheels off. Once that is done, just open the speed bleeders, connect some silicon hose, and pump away.

Start at Left Front, and proceed clockwise around the car. The only thing the power bleeder would save is having to sit in the car and pump the brake pedal a few times. I usually recruit my GF to do this for me, just so I can keep an eye on things at the corners and make sure nothing unexpected happens.

I guess if you had a pressure bleeder, you wouldn't need to buy the speed bleeders.
