Hew, just had the 30000 miles service done to my car today.

Total bill: $358.69

Only problem is that they could not replace the small heat/ac filter.
It is on national backorder.
I really do feel that it has to be replaced soon.

What is involved in the service if you are interested, I will list.
But among the list, spark plugs??
I don't know if they really replace it or not but....
Also I am kind of worried if they took out my Mugen's K&N filter and put something there. From the look of the intake, it looks like they opened it up to check it out.
I hope I can end that paranoia when I disassemble the intake soon.

Not many of you are reaching the 30000 miles service level but I thought you guys or gals would like to know.
It would be interesting what other dealer service will charge for the similar service.

I'm interested in what was replaced and inspected with the service...BTW, you probably got to most miles among the S2K owners.

Amount of bill is cheap compared to a Porsche 30k service!

Honda's 30k and 60k mile tune-ups are rather expensive for what's done & not done. I've got a list of what they do....valve adjustment(if needed), oil change, rotate tires(if applicable), change air filter, replace tranny fluid, spark plugs, replace coolant.

Most of the other things are composed of inspections....which most dealers will NOT do if you're not looking.

My 98' Prelude has a very similar tuneup schedule and list of maintenace items. I simply bought the parts and did it myself for the 60k tuneup and it costed me about $100.00(for the parts) instead of $350.00.

Just my deux cents...

Mike

When I had the 30K service done on my '82 928 the bill was $3000.00; keep in mind that we are talking 1983 dollars.

Holy cow!!!Did you just have too much $$$ laying around and didn't know what to do with it or what? $3000 in 1983 can buy a brand new car.

Funny you should mention it. As a matter of fact, I didn't pay for the service. When I brought the car in for service, it also had a broken odometer ($900.00). I had had several problems with this car and was quite frustrated with it. I asked a salesman there if they would trade me even for an Audi 5000S Turbo they had on the floor. They agreed and I drove the Audi home that day. Unfortunately, the value of the Audi promply went into the toilet due to the Unintended acceleration BS promoted by "60 Minutes"; however, it was a nice ride.
