Default A sticky situation with hardtopguy!

I live in London Ontario. I ordered 1800$ in parts from Jeff and was told that everything was in stock as I was considering going elsewhere if I couldn't get the parts immediately. We had a bit of a problem with the order and the car was originally going to be shipped directly to his dealership. When I called him to tell me the car was coming (Two weeks after I originally ordered everything) He said the stuff was being painted.
Eventually things got fairly sticky and I ended up paying Jeff to drive my parts down which is the one thing I commend him for. When he showed up at my house the side strakes were not the right colour, their were no bumper plugs and no grill. I double and even triple checked the order and he verified that everything was a go and the order was complete.
As there was nothing I could really do except wait for him to ship me the parts ASAP. Well Jeff, two weeks later and nothing. Since you are such a hard guy to reach. Geez I feel as though your name should be hardtoreachguy! I know alot of people love the hardtopguy and his prices are untouchable, but I am pissed as it has been about three weeks since he said that he would ship them the next day. Still no parts! Considering they are paid for I am a bit uneasy. I always find that guys in the car business mess up orders and give unrealistic time of arrival and some I think lie about the product being in stock to snag a sale. Bad business!
Jeff if you read this, I appreciate you driving the stuff up to me although I paid you. I loved your prices, you saved me an armload of money! But I am giving you a in the service department! And as for all the members that are die hard hardtopguy supporters I don't need to get into a bickering match with you. I just want my stuff before summer is over and driving around with no bumper plugs is awful. It ruins the look of my car.

Just call the dealership and you can reach him.
I never had a problem reaching him.

You can always try Jeff's brother Joe: SanMarinoCpe.

You didn't happen to think about customs did you? I've had auto parts shipped to me from Canada before and there is always a little hold up through customs - typically to the tune of 3-4 weeks

This depends on the number of things being shipped and the size.

As most people who have experience with him can attest, Jeff's service is tops. I've often seen him go way beyond what would be reasonable to help out a customer, often making major personal sacrifices to do so.

But no one can be perfect 100 percent of the time, and mistakes are made. You seem to be one of the unlucky ones.

And your situation is further complicated by the need to ship parts over the border. All of us vendors here in the US (at least in the S2000 community) have serious concerns about shipments to Canada, as I have noted on this board before. The customs delays are unconscionable, and unless we ship everything by FedEx (the extra costs of which most people don't want to pay), delivery time is a crap shoot.

I'm sure Jeff will recitify this.

In my opinion, given the praise Hardtopguy has recieved from everyone on this board, you should try to resolve the problem privately before you start handing out 's

I disagree.. what use is information if you only get 1/2 the story. If 200 people have great experience and the 3 that don't are told to stay quiet, what's the value of posting the good experiences since the negatives are "hidden".

If the overwhelming experience is truly positive, that will be apparent.

Just MHO...

Hardtopguy is my main source for parts, and I've used his services many times.

He definitely gets my highest rating for good service!

Sorry you are having a problem, but that is not the norm when dealing with HTG.
