Need A Trustworthy And Mechanically Inclined S2KI'er In Seattle Area
OK, I have a really strange request, that is fairly urgent.
I won a bid on a blown motor on Ebay. The guy who has the motor is in the Seattle area. The guy claims that it is in "Renton", but that doesn't show up on the map. His address that he put on Ebay appears to be fake, as it does not resolve as a real address in Mapquest.
Anyways, he says that shipping is $545 to ship the motor to Florida. I have given the guy $200 to ship it so far, and now he is asking for another $350 or so. He is not willing to do anything with the motor to make it so it will fit in a box.
So, what I am asking for is if there is someone in the Seattle area who is trustworthy and reliable (well known on S2KI) to pick up the motor and remove the head off of the bottom end, and ship them seperately. I will pay you $100 for the labor, and I will cover the shipping costs, of course. I will talk with you over the phone and guide you through the head removal process, and you will need a basic set of tools.
I am going to try and get the address from him tonight. If there is no one willing to do this, would there be anyone willing to make a visit and verify that he actually has the motor?
Thanks!!

Renton is a real place. I am in it right now. Do you have the rest of the address?
Note, though, that I am not actually volunteering to handle this for you. At least not at this time. But I might at least confirm the address is real or not.

I can help you with that. What is his address in Renton.
Let me know what would you like me to do? I will PM you with my personal contact information and don't worry about the labor. I will help you out for free.
Chris, I have an idea. Do you have a web cam? We can talk on the phone plus visual assistance removing the head.
Good luck,
Eric.

ok, just re-read your message again in detail and found out:
"asking for is if there is someone in the Seattle area who is trustworthy and reliable (well known on S2KI)"
I will leave other s2ki members to comment on my trustworthy, reliability, and my credential. I do show up on Tue Taco from time to time and it proves that I am a really person. Not some virtual person who is trying to scam your motor.
Talking about well known... hummm.. I am not sure how well known I am. Definitely not as famous as xviper and Jerry, etc. No one call my name nowaday on s2ki. Feel free to pick one of my nickname of your choice. I should have enough by now for a good selection.

That depends on whether you are trusting them with your beer and your woman, or whether you are trusting them with something less important, like large quantities of cash. It goes without saying that none of them are trustworthy with your ignition keys. Well, maybe except for Brant....

Glad that I can help. I am trying to hunt down their city location and no success. Check their spelling, possible typo, try a slightly different variation of address and no luck. Still return "address not found".
Tried renton, tacoma, tukwila, ct, ave, pl, etc.
Could someone help us to track this down:
13042 187th ct
tukwila, wa 98188

Is that 187th North, South, East, West, Northwest, Southwest, Southeast, or Northwest. I'm going to assume SE since that would put it in south Renton/North Kent/Fairwood area. However - the zip code is for White Center which is why none of this jives. Those cross streets are not possible in 98188 so I can pretty much guarantee this is a bum address. Either the guy's zip code is mysteriously off by a total of three municipalities or somebody is hitting the pipe while transcribing.
Erik... Do you even have the tools to seperate an engine head from the block? Or an engine stand for that matter?
