Default Need Help - Hard Top Doesn't Fit

Just tried to refit my hard-top after having it stood in my living room for a month and a half. One major problem, the left hand clip that fixes to the windscreen doesn't close properly and it looks like the hard top has become warped while it was being stored. I had it stood next to a wall with the glass side facing upwards, which I was led to believe was the best way. I spent an hour and a half trying to fit it last night but it just won't.

Anyone got any suggestions on what to do?

Was the glass at the top or the bottom. If the glass was at the top the weight could have warped the HT.

The glass is supposed to be at the top and Neil has stored it correctly.

Neil:The latches can be adjusted and this might help.

Rahula is the king when it comes to hard top storage. Wasn't an instruction manual scanned in at some point

Eek.. I'm paranoid now.

My HT has been stored for the past 2 months or so with the glass at the bottom on a non-Honda stand. It doesn't look like its "uncomfortable" (for want of a better expression).. is there anything I can do short of attempting to refit it to ensure its all ok?

Thanks for the kind words buddy. I did scan the instructions and I think they were then added to the Tech FAQ. Please have a look people, it should be there. Durzel I don't know if it would have caused many problems but like you have asked there is no way to be sure unless you try to fit it on the car.

I've just been down and it hasn't changed over-night. Had another go at reseating it and I'm now sure that it is warped. I'm going to call the dealer in a minute and see what they think, as it was stored correctly as per the instructions I have I will ask about a warranty claim for a new HT.

Here's some pictures I just took:

As you can see, the gap is significant.

Did you do the front latches b4 the rear? The rim where it comes around to the pax window looks spot on. I would try shuffling with two people to get it to fit. If you done this already, soz.

Good luck. Why don't you have a stand? It's going to be their first question!

My housemate and I spent nearly 2 hours shuffling it around and trying to fasten things in different order, both front latches will fasten as long as the psx side mount isn't in the hole, when lined up with the hole the front psx side sits too high as in the photo.

Just called the dealer and they are too busy, offered to send someone to collect the car and drop it off but didn't fancy that. Going to book it in next week and see what they say.

Hopefully it won't rain too much this afternoon before my housemate gets home and we can remove it.

RE: The stand, Euro imports don't come with one, and the HT manual doesn't mention it anyway.

My HT looks somewhat like that also - the dealer told me that "hard-tops warping is cr@p, never happens, who over told you that is talking nonsense".

They looked at it, but couldn't find anything at fault, although I'm sure it's not quite right. Doesn't leak though.

There have been documented cases of this happening, whatever the dealer says.

(Mine was correctly stored on the stand)
