Arrow Dipstick popping up?

I have noticed that after I go out driving around in VTEC, and not just cruising, that the dipstick will not be sitting flush against the valve cover anymore. It only comes up about 1/4" and doesn't leak anything out, but I am wondering if this is a problem that anyone else has experienced, and if so, is there a fix?

I was thinking of getting some thicker o-rings to replace the two green stock ones, to increase the grip, and maybe keeping it installed correctly.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

this is from excess crank pressure. I just had the same problem and took mine in under warranty. They did a leak down test and found 2 cylinders under 30 and 2 over 40. I have the car back now after getting new piston rings and a full top end gasket kit. You may want to get this checked out. It could also be the pcv valve or a faulty dipstick, but none of this solved my problem. PM me for more info. My car was in the shop for 3 weeks.

9K,
Did they tell you what caused the ring failure? I have the same problem (popping dipstick) and replacing the PCV valve has not helped. I am going to be pissed if I need new rings on my 14k MY 03 S2000.

I've had the same problem since my first oil change on my MY04, so I think the majority of the cars with this problem are not suffering from worn rings. It's just a design flaw of the dipstick.

Please be aware that the crank pressure should ALWAYS be negative!!! There is something wrong if there is overpressure in the crankcase.

what is crank pressure? I know what oil pressure is, but crank pressure? And when you find the oil dipstick, find where is the crank dipstick is too, Alexf20C.
