Default Proposition for anybody that wants to lower car

Just want to say thanks to Josh for taking time out of his day to look at my car and give me his opinion on possible cause for some of the noise I'm hearing and finding a tear in my differential mounts~ ack!

Quick rundown.

My car is making an AWFUL creaking noise and Josh seems to think it could be the wheel bearing/axle nut as there is decent play in the rear driver side wheel.

Fortunately and unfortunately I have the 100k extended care warranty that will cover this... but I have aftermarket springs.

When this problem first started I took it to Honda and they didn't even want to look at the problem because of the springs and the added tension they add to all the driveshaft parts

I found my set of stock 2001 springs and am willing to trade the KG/MM race springs I have on my car now for the swapping them out for stocks..

Do the labor (if your capable) and keep the springs..

I'll then go get my car fixed under warranty and later on add the full coilover suspension I been meaning to..

Need this done asap!

Holla.

Im thinking about it. The problem is that my car is a lease. Thats a nice deal, someone jump on it before I actually decide to go for it. How soon you need this done?

The amazing thing is my car creaked all the way to Josh's house and when I parked and he took it out for a drive, IT STOPPED! haha.. Must be me.. actually, it stops often, only to come back..

Description, hmm.. If you've ever heard the TSB for the wheel bearing 'click' imagine that louder, along with a squeak as if my brake pads were worn.. as I accel it gets louder and disappears at around 35-40mph....

Really, I guess it works out - I love the KG/MM springs on the car but since I got the car from my friend I've wanted to do my own thing - I was planning on putting it on stock suspension until I can afford a coilover set like Tein's, etc..

It won't look too 4x4 with the 04 wheels I hope!

And what's the use of a 100k mile warranty if I can never use it =/

So far Sonic has showed interest - I gotta PM him back and see timeframes/conditions for this..

I would like to do this ASAP - I'm not driving the car as of yesterday (needed a break anyhow) but I'd never thought it be embarassing to pull up in this car anywhere - until now! hehe..

Hey,
Well I'm sorry to hear that you are going through (yet another) warranty hazzle. I am writing because I just got an 02 s2k and maybe after the second day I began to hear a noise from the rear passenger tire, it only happens when I am taking off on first or turning or (the worst) when I am reversing. It is like a loud click that goes off sometimes a few times. I am not sure how to produce the sound yet or what is making it but I am worried, what do you guys recommend? I also have that bumper to bumper 100k warranty but I first want to know what it is before I put my car in for service and get it taken away for a few days

Good luck with your springs, I hope that neither of our noises are serious.

Jose,

Jose,
Does it sound like a rattling noise?? if you are taking off from 1st and them reverse, could be the clutch rattle. Keep an eye on it, or just maybe you aren't supplying enough gas?? I dunno a description of the noise would help better.

We did two spring installs up here in Gainesville. Was actually pretty easy once you get the hang of what your doing. If it comes down to it, I'm sure you can do it with a few friends. Just a couple of bolts here and there actually.
