Default my T1R exhaust system broke

I was driving along and all of the sudden my exhaust sounds loud as sh*t. I almost could hear it right underneath me. I pulled over to look at it because i knew something was wrong. I looked and the muffler had broken off. Can I drive safely without harming my S without the muffler?. It was just hanging there by the 2 hangers. Just like this guy.

Here is a pic of the piece that broke off.

Sometimes the welds in muffler systems just fatigue from vibration. Stainless is more prone to this. What is it made of?

Maybe you can contact T1R. With the piece being only two months old they should stand behind their product. If they don't then you would be doing potential buyers a favor by letting them no what to expect.

Just my $.02,

Good Luck,

Yeah i had something simmilar happen on an apexi exhaust on my old integra, but that was aluminized piping. But definatly call t1r see what they can do about the exhaust and your plastic. If i were you i would check out rics2k.com he sells a cap that goes over the black peice on the rear bumper. This would prevent you from having to buy and paint a whole new bumper because the peice can be added to the bumper, plus it cover the drivers side exhaust cutout, making your single exhaust look beter. Good luck

same thing happened to me with my civic.. my hangers for the muffler broke.... the reason for mine was i was running really rich... and i guess the heat didn't help it out to much.. ... but yeah a muffler shop should be able to weld it back together for you..

ohmy,
the lucky thing for me was that the hangers didn't break. if they did, that part of the exhaust system would be bouncing on the hwy somewhere.

i bought it in the group buy from speedstar.

Why shouldn't i take it to a muffler shop? What happens if i drive without the muffler? Will it mess up the compression? Will anything burn under the car?
