Default A Dirty Picture and Story About The Front Grill

A Story about the purpose of the Front Grill.

I recently drove 5981 Km's round trip from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to
Elkhart Lake, Wis for the Historic car races. I have attached a picture
of what your grill saved from hitting my rad. This sight was a daily
occurance and I cannot imagine what my rad would look like if I had not
had your grill.
THANK YOU.
Please feel free to use the picture on your site or any where else you
like.

Warren Currie

I wonder what the condenser and readiator would have looked like without the grill

Thanks For the Testamonial Warren

Regards,
David McCune Jr.

Just based on the title of this thead, I was expecting to see some form of road kill from higher up the food chain. However, I'm glad it's just a bunch of bugs.

I personally have had worse on my front grill that I bought from you a while back. It does work great and I haven't had any elevevated temperature issues through the past 2 months of 90-100 degree weather. The temp gauge has only shown the usual 3-Bars.

Axcilla, I have even a better story.
Two days ago, I was on my way home on the highway cruising at 150 km/h when suddenly I hear that awful sound of some animal hitting my front bumper. I immediately stop the car and get out to see the damage. I already imagined my car completely destroyed.
Hopefully it was just some kind of big bird (a crow I guess) crushed on my front grill.
Unfortunately the grill bent under the violence of the impact but it certainly saved my radiator and condenser.
That's for the good news.
Bad news is that I will probably have to order a new grill.

Just wondering. . . any thoughts on why Honda did not install a similar grill? I agree the S2k is (1) a cop magnet and (2) a bug collector - both cause it goes so damn fast! Seriously, any thoughts on this?

for those of you that have the CAIs...
did you have to modify your grill to make it so that there would be more airflow (for example: did you have to cut a whole in the grill - i'm sure this would be an option), or did you just leave the grill on as you would even if you didn't have a CAI
just curious, 'cause my CAI should be coming in, in about two weeks

and for everyone else...
my grill (front and two sides) are perfect, i think it not only benefits in keeping the radiator and whatever else clean, but it looks great...i would recommend it to anyone

joe_s2k...
did you get on Mingster's list for the CAI too? (if you don't remember who i am, i'm the little 16 year old with the silver/black...i hope you remember who i am now)

Thanks for this thread. I have the grill and was sure it would benefit me on my upcoming cross country trip. I now feel very vindiacted in spending the money and getting it well before I needed it.
Looking forward to cleaning my grill after I drive down the PCH.
