Default Chocolate Syrup Banter Thread

Folks,

Make plans to attend the 3rd annual Wake the Dragon event on April 22nd, 23rd and 24th in beautiful Alcoa, Tennessee!

Plans are in the works to confirm the Airport Hilton, a full service hotel in Alcoa. As things develop, I will share more information here.

What you'll see at WTD '05
  • Early bird Savings for Registering and Paying EARLY
  • Special "SUPER GIVEAWAY" for the 1st 50 registered (and PAID) folks
  • Liability waiver will be included within the Registration for the event
  • Event t-shirt; 100% pre-shrunk, high quality cotton
  • Event magnet; no less than 3x3
  • Event packet will include more maps of the area
  • Name tags for Drivers and Guests
  • Placards for your S2000 with screen name and Real name
  • Lunch Pass for Sat. will double as Raffle ticket
  • Private barbeque style lunch at Deal's Gap
  • Dinner Pass for Sat. night will be included with your packet
  • Dinner at the hotel (no driving to another place on Sat. night)
  • More sponsors and giveaways (much more)
I'm listing these items as a reminder and so that each of you can look it over and add something. Feel free and no that I take ZERO offense to any suggestions. We have the ability to make these events spectacular and your ideas will help tremendously!

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE AT WTD '05?

I am just not sure how you keep making these events better and better.

My only request would be a second hose for the wash area.

Agreed, two or three hoses will be made available for WTD '05. Also, I will see if Zaino will sponsor the event and send some handy items to cleanup the S2000's and so on. It would be a great way for them to show support for the community.

Reason for the change? I assume it has a banquet facility, which makes sense.

Event t-shirt; 100% pre-shrunk, high quality cotton
What would be the possibility of getting a polo with an embroidered WTD'05 logo, rather than a t-shirt? I have to wear polos 250 days a year and I'd love to get something I can wear more. As it is, I have ~10 S2000 event t-shirts that collectively get worn maybe once/month?

Event packet will include more maps of the area
Good idear.

Name tags for Drivers and Guests
I will continue to silently oppose this by wearing mine upside down on my hat.

Placards for your S2000 with screen name and Real name
I still have mine from DBRun '01!

Private barbeque style lunch at Deal's Gap
This sounds like it'll be at a pre-determined time. I *really* liked the setup at the Dragon Grill. I was starving at 11am already and wouldn't have made it 'til 1pm (our old Subway @ Fontana time).

Dinner at the hotel (no driving to another place on Sat. night)

Part of me would rather see the sponsorship (at least some of it) offset some of the event cost. I've never been one to bitch about your event fees, as they're very reasonable, but lowering the fee may get more people to show up. Also, it benefits everyone, rather than just those that win.

Hi Raul!! You do a "Spectacular" job setting these up! What ever you finalize is fine with me. Sharon and I will be there for sure! Where's the list? Thanks to you and Anna for the card. It's in the album along with "ALL" our Dragon photos. Wish we could make "Fall Colors" but we will be on "Family" vacation during the event.Gatlinburg. with the parents (70's) My intention is to run the Dragon in the family car, with the parents! Won't quite be the same!
