Default Known issues with the 2004-2005

To the best of my knowledge, these are some of the issues that have appeared on the 2004 S2000. I think they may appear on the 2005s also.

1. Brake dust. Although I just washed and waxed my wheels, within 3 drives, they will be dirty again. The dirt will be the brake dust that accumulates very quickly on the front wheels.

2. Cracked plastic inner wheel wells. Within two months, both my front plastic wheel well liners had pieces broken off of them near the screws.

3. Rattling roof. There is a round piece with a Phillips screw inside it on either side of the roof that hits against the metal behind it.

are 2 and 3 common problems? i have never heard of this happening...
as for brake dust thats understandable, it naturally develops, cant really do anything about it.. maybe different brake pads..
the 05 and 04 are the same so im guessing that it would all be the same as far as any "problems" are

Only 3 weeks into 04 ownership. I will agree break dust is excessive.

This is known to happen on 2004's.

04's have different brake pads and that make them look like a Z3.

Maybe you could trade that "problem" vehicle for an '03!

4. Notchy shifts from 1st to 2nd until warmed up. (Not necesarily an "issue.")

#3's coming into play at around 3000 miles on my '04 S2k.

I noticed the brake dust too, but I don't really consider it a "problem" since brake pads are, after all, a consumable. A coat of Zaino on the wheels helps a lot though.

Rather deal with brake dust than oil usage.
