Thumbs up CF Heatshield from Ricks2k

Has anyone ordered the CF heatshield from ricks2k.com recently? I'm asking because I ordered the part on 09/24 and almost a month later, all I've recieved was an e-mail from Rick telling me to ask Nick (who, I guess makes them). By the way, my CC was already charged for the item.

Having asked Nick, he said that he would ship immediately after making them (this was 10/08 when he replied).

Two weeks later from Nick's response, either Nick nor Rick has replied to my e-mail about the item.

Does it normally take this long to make the item? ...Or am I experiencing another Coastal Metals experience (when I bought my front lip protector) where the "company" kept on making (inconsistent) excuses regarding the shipment delay?

Ricks has great customer service but they do tend to have product delays from time to time. I would send rick or stratocaster a PM and see if they know anything else about the delay.

I always seem to have better luck with PMs than emails.

Thanks... I've been doing both, PM's AND e-mails to both Rick and Nick.

I don't know what's up with this service.

bump... I got a PM from Stratocaster. I've pm'ed AND e-mailed both Nick and Rick. So that's three people now who I've spoken with about my order.

I replied to Stratocaster...still awaiting his response.

I've only bought from them once and my experience was identical to yours. PM/email and complain enough about it here and you'll get it eventually. I actually don't think it's Rick's that is the hold up. My wait was for the single exhaust cap which is also made by Ztec Industries (aka Nick). I think therein lies the bottleneck since these are custom pieces that only Nick makes for sale on Rick's site.

Nick, Jeff(Stratocaster), and Rick had their Fall Colors Event this past weekend and were probably really busy putting it all together.

Just give them a little bit more time and all will be well. They've been here for 4 years and have provided us with excellent service thus far.

........bump........

I've been dealing with Jeff throughout. Any correspondence with Rick just gets me forwarded to Nick.

I'm going on 6 weeks. I was told that it was mailed early last week. I'm not exactly sure if it takes this long to mail a package...but...

....still waiting.....

(BTW, thanks Jeff for all the effort on tracking down my order status)

When I ordered my heatshield from Rick's it took a couple of weeks longer to arrive than several other items I ordered at the same time. To my knowledge - The CF Heatshield is not something that Rick keeps in stock - Nick from ZTEC makes them up upon receipt of order and ships from his place - so for starters that's one reason why it may take a little longer... the other is the work that was being done on the Fall Colors event. <EDIT>I have found Rick & his co vendors to be nothing less than honorable & reliable - I'm a bit surpised there are any communications problems.
The CF heatshield is a nice item - I never installed mine & would be glad to sell it to anyone who wants one<SALE PENDING> - I had purchased it for use with an intake that I was going to put in - but have since decided to keep my S all stock. Bone stock. At least until I change my mind again

Damn, had I known, I would have just bought yours.

As I understand it, Nick makes them for Rick's website also -- but 6 weeks? This is very similar to my Coastal Metals experience where I was given excuses about the front lip protector...and 8 weeks later, voila.
