I have been a member here for something like three years and in the last 8 months I have wanted to throw my PC out of the window on more than one occassion. This site is constantly having problems, never runs smoothly, searches don't work, uploads of pics don't always work, PM go missing and I could rant on and on. I did not pay my membership for this kind of service and I am getting more and more frustrated as each day passes. This post has taken me in excess of 8 attempts and my search which I am trying to run has been tried 12 times and all I get is timed out pages!

If I had paid for this new software I would be taking that company to court for a useless piece of junk that they had sold me. I am sorry but this is a fact. I am a patient person but the way this forum runs has depleted my ability to stay calm completely.

I am not intending to renew my membership and I am probably not the only one. I want to be able to use a site which I support and pay towards and at this moment in time there is nothing which attracts me back. I have made many friends online here but if these problems continue I will no longer be visiting this site.

Yup, this kind of attitude is really going to keep your members loyal! Just goes to show what a waste paying for something can be....

 

Got a better suggestion smart guy? I'm all ears as to how you would go about it. I would say stop whining but since you clearly have a better alternative I'd love to hear it.

It is as, if not more, frustrating for you guys, I know that. I know the work you and yogi are doing, as we converse on a regular basis, i guess the users just don't see that.

 

To the thread starter: I was just as frustrated as you are, until recently.

The team here is working very hard to improve the site. It was an utter joke over the summer months, but the last month or so has been very good around here. Most everything works the way it should.

I've noticed the past few days that the site has become unreliable again, but this too will be rectified.

The site *will* continue to improve.

 

There were load balancer issues last week, since then the site has been more stable.

cthree and yogi now know what the issue with search engine is, I won't try to begin and explain, but to fix it, requires 2 days downtime for the site. They are going to schedule this in at some point, so as too minimise disruption to us all too.

It has been a very steep learning curve for the guys - moving a site and database this size to a new format and software is a very big task, it needed doing, but perhaps not all the pitfalls were identified when the decision was taken, but hey, live and learn

 

I hope so, there has been alot of anti s2ki sentiments around here latley.

Oh and rahula the way c3 talked to you was nothing bro, i have one convo saved if you care to read it.

 

Thank you all for your input. I guess I can see the frustration that I was typing but it was after a long build up. At the same time I can see why cthree and others feel frustrated.

At the end of the day though my views were those of a paying member and I felt it was my right to air my views and feelings on the forum which is meant to be about site issues. I guess it was in the same way as I would have complained after buying a PC and if it crashed every two days. I can't see how complaining about the issues with this board can be taken to mean insult or personal attack. On the other hand if I did not pay a membership fee I would have nothing to complain about.

I will wait and see. I can only hope that the site does get better. I like this forum a lot and not only for the S related stuff but we all feel this way I guess. Having spent hours trying to find something, trying to type a thread and failing over and over again just got me wound up today and the initial two responses didn't help. I am calm now and will wait another couple of months to see this site improve.
