Cool Hills of Missouri Run

S2000 Owners & Enthusiasts START YOUR ENGINES

The 2005 Gateway S2000 Owner and Enthusiast "Hills of Missouri Run" May 14th & 15th - 2005

Since Herman Days will be going on and our overnight stay needed some fine tuning, directions and meeting point have changed!

Using McDonalds in Eureka MO (44 & 109) as a starting point, the route will take us through some of the most beautiful and scenic roads in Missouri.

The Route (blue and yellow on map) is approximately 625 miles of scenic driving around the West side of Mark Twain National Forest, down into northern Arkansas with a evening stay in Black Oak Resort in Oakland Arkansas (about 275 miles into the trip). Then heading back into Missouri on the east side of Mark Twain National Park north into St. Louis

General Directions:
*Hwy 44 to Cuba Missouri (60 Miles). Stop in or nearby Cuba and have lunch at one of the local eateries.
*Pick-up Hwy 19 in Cuba and head south to Alton Missouri (120 Miles)
*Head west out of Alton on Route 160 to Gainesville (70 Miles)
*Continue another 2 miles on Route 160 to the 160 & 5 junction (2 Mile)
*Head south on Route 5 to Route 202 (12 Miles)
*Pick up route 202 West to Oakland - Black Oak Resort (8 Miles) -- Spend the remainder of the day/night in Oakland and/or at Rolsinski's summer home.

*Continue the following morning by picking up Hwy 5 south to 62/412 Mountain Home (8 Miles)
*Pick up Route 62/412 West to Salem (35 Miles)
*In Salem pick up Route 9 and head north, back to Alton (35 Miles) to Route 160 East
*Take 160 East to the Route 160 and 21 junction in Hill Top (41 Miles) -- Grab lunch in Hill Top which is on the South/East corner of Mark Twain National Forrest
*Continue North on 21 to 60/21 North (15 Miles) and then continue North on 21 at the 60/21 junction back to St. Louis (160 Miles)

Count me in. I will drag some of the boys and girls from the Ark-La-Tex group with me.

8-Ball could you post this on the North Texas group? Im sure some of them would be interested.

We will see - all depends on how the wedding plans are going - getting married in Kohala, HI June 4th...

Then again, if they aren't finalized by mid-May, I'll need a break. When do you need definite go/no-go?

I'm trying to get commitments by 1/15. I can probably wait until the end of January, early February at the latest for final confirmation so we can get our rooms reserved.

Hey Mike,

You might want to update the thread on the STLPC site as well. I know there were some members interested in coming...
