was driving to work and threw a CEL on the 404....car went into "safe" mode - won't rev past 3K.....hits a "soft" limiter.

finally got to work and parked it. restarted it and it revs to redline, but the CEL is still on.

gonna take it for a boot at lunch and see what happens.....if it can sustain revs while driving, it may have just mis-fired (per joe).

i called jeff/joe and they told me to pull the fuse - but it's pissing outside, so i haven't done it yet.

any other thoughts??

where can i have the hard code pulled (other than a dealer)??

do you think speedstar can pull the code?

jeff/joe need the code to better diagnose what happened....

joe thought it may have been the blower belt, but it still works (i can hear it spooling)
