How many board members are power modified?
My hypothesis is that the west coast and florida/texas regions will have the highest percentage of modified cars, while we here in the midwest we have few cars with major power modifications. I am not considering any major suspension or cosmetic modifications.
I understand that this poll will be highly biased based on members who frequent the board, but I still believe numbers will highly favor drivers with either no modifications or let's say an intake. The board at times is quite decepive because it makes visitors and members feel that the a great number of our cars are modded.

So it looks like most of the rather active board members have basic bolt ons, thanks for the info. I think some of the cali and texas moderators are setting these polls up in their regions.
I don't think you can assume one region is typically FI, another is weight reducing, and so on.....
New York has some ITB's and a few Super Chargers, the Mid-Atlantic has a whole bunch of Super Chargers (the heart of Evolution
) and many are going turbo now, Florida is kind of like the Mid-A. I have no idea what is going on in Texas, but it seems that California is heading back to NA set ups.

you completely forgot about the mid-atlantic area.... we have to many supercharged S's rolling around here.. and now we are getting more and more turbo charged cars... most of which hitting very high hp numbers.... even a few nitroused

Oh... I have a guessitmate on the localization of higher output mods. It's called "Money." Certain areas have higher paying jobs available to more folks. Certain parts of the country still frown on imported anything.
Look at the recent presidential election for another example. Look at the electoral vote versus the acreage vote. Almost the entire land mass that is the United States voted for the correct candidate.
The vote was quite a bit closer because of the concentration of voters in smaller areas(generally, this is how they stay warm in the winters).
So, on the west coast and southern states, you have weather that allows one to fully enjoy the S and its capabilities more of the time. In Florida this only applies to "top-down" capabilities because all roads are flat and straight.
Because of this, pouring money in to mods is more cost effective on a "driven-per-day" basis. In the NY region you have a ton of peeps, all trying to one up the next guy. The Midwest(very much a generalization here) would rather hold the car in the garage and wait for it to appreciate(hopefully) and enjoys the car in its stock decor... this is not done enough, btw.
Since I've lived in Youngstown(general area), Houston, Arizona, and now Virginia, i feel qualified to make the previous assessment. Of course, the overall simplicity of my deductions could have been done by anyone. It is like a horoscope. They are written so openly that every one of them applies to everyone that reads them. .
Merry Christmas.
