Haven't posted here in a while, so I thought I'd say Hi and Happy New Years to all. Hope everyone had a great holiday and Santa didn't put any coal in your stockings. Connie and I just got back from Mexico Thursday. Had a relaxing time doun there, but we came back three days early because I was having withdrawal symptoms from not working on my car. Next year is going to be a great one for me - I retire after 32 years with Exxon.
Anyway, back to my car. Progress has been slow. As most of you know, I pulled my UR turbo engine out (Its my spare now) and replaced it with a sleeved block with 9:1 Ross pistons and Pauter rods. I was going to stick with the UR turbo kit, but changed my mind and deciged to build my own design using a Full Race exhaust manifold and Garrett GT35R turbo along with a much larger intercooler.
The Full Race manifold really slowed things down - took about 5 weeks to get it as they are built to order. Once it showed up, it was apparent that there was a lot more work than planned: The heater plumbing had to be rerouted and the battery relocated to the trunk (yet to be done). Also, the main fuse box and steering control module had to be moved. Before I'm done, I'll have to build a few heat shields.
Here are some pictures to wet your appetite. At the rate I'm progressing, I should be done in a couple of months.
These pics don't do it justice! After seeing it in person, I haven't been able to sleep well at night.
I'm curious what kind of boost you are planning on running, and what power you are expecting.
I'm just guessing here, but I suspect 25 psi will give over 600 WHP. The engine should be good for over 30 psi. I'll probably run whatever boost it takes for about 400 WHP - my guess is about 12 to 14 psi.

nice setup fred
It loosk like you have relocated the vtec solenoid from the picture. Where have you relocated it to?
I realize that you didn't direct this question to me, but I asked Fred the same question when I was at his house on Saturday. He has just temporarily removed the VTEC solenoid while he is working on it.
Wow Fred, that looks very involving! That's very awesome that you do all the work on the car yourself. Everyone else that's been doing the big turbo projects have just been paying some shop to do it, so I'm sure you'll have that much more satisfaction when you fire her up. Sorry the reply came so late, never got an email sent saying the other posts had replies. Keep it up!
I guess the answer to that would be no. Like I said, it's been a while since I've been on s2ki.com, most of my other forums email me when there's a reply.
