While we were running south on 281 today I received a call from Iron Rock Raceway, Austin's new outdoor karting venue. While the official opening is still a week away an invitation was extended to the drive group for a visit to the track and some seat time in their Honda powered Birel racing karts. For those interested the karts will be ready to go after 11 AM Sunday the 9th. I was told the session price will be $35.00. Iron Rock is located at Austin Bergstrom Airport.

We had two Elise owners, a Ferrari Modena owner and a couple BMW folks turn out for today's "endurance race". I completed more than 60 laps! The big 3/4 mile track opens next weekend and Thursday night leagues will start soon...

 

Damn that looks like fun...thanks svann for posting up here on the North Texas forum. Any chance some of the photos were taken with a Nikon D70?

BTW - I got myself a little Xmas present...the Nikon 80-400 VR. I can't wait for the next autocross!!!
