Default Mike's Clinic

Hi Friends,
What a beautiful day. This was the first day that I really had a chance to take a long ride and enjoy my new 2001 S2000. I hope all of you did the same. I was really impressed with the smooth ride driving down the highway. Special thanks to 8BALL (Mike) for being so generous with his time and hard work. He helped me get my plastic rear window and convertible top looking like new. I learned a lot about my new car today. Awesome job, Mike, thanks. Looking forward to meeting the rest of you . Have fun.

Dave

Did turn out to be a nice day. After finishing at arcuraman's (Dave) house, I completed some "Honey-Do's" , then took a topless drive for about 30 miles. With the heat on and the tunes blasting, it has been the best of 2005 so far.

Was glad to meet you and give you a hand, along with some 'S2000 schooling'.

Took us about 3 hours to get acuraman's rear window looking like new. The window was around 75% oxidized with 10-15% 'yellowing'. We needed to apply 3 coats of Meguair Plastx and lots of elbow grease. Followed up by a final coat of Plexus. Oh Dave... I have your Plexus with me , will bring it with me on Thursday.

The top needed some help also... Several birds dropping stains and some old wax residue in the edges. Was also beginning to 'gray' due to UV bleaching. Focused on all the bad areas first using 303, scrub brush and soaked towel. Then followed up with a full 303 top soaking.

Top and window look brand new! Unfortunately I did not snap any before pics, but here are the afters.

NICE!

8BALL, The Porsche-brand convertible cleaning product and sealer looked excellent when first applied and water still beads on the top when it rains. However, I think the job you guys have done looks better. I remember your top felt smoother to the touch. On Acuraman's top there's a sparkle that can only be described as NEW. Also, WOW on the clarity of the rear window!

Please divulge the secret location(s) of where 303 sealer can be purchased. I haven't seen it.

That really looks great! I used some polish for my rear window and I regret it because it got into the outer-creases on the inside. Any ideas how to get it out? I dumped that cheap stuff and have a few bottles of Plexus waiting to be used! All I need know is the 303. Where do you get it from? Also, I noticed that he doesn't have any creases in the window...mine is kind of wavy and loose-looking. Any tricks? Thanks!

-Matt

BTW...Dave, your car looks brand new!! How many miles are on it?

Here is a link for 303

I would stongly recomend you buy the gallon refill as the price is drastically reduced. Just do a google search on 303 protectant... the sites returned are almost limitless.
Thanks!
