Proflow throttle body install pics
On Saturday morning RT, Jim Hill of Proflow Design, and I installed the throttle body in my S2000. Well, to be honest, I pretty much watched and took pictures while they did the work...
Here's Jim at work (with RT lurking in the background):
Here are two comparison shots of the Proflow TB (left) and stock (right):
This is the stock TB just before removal:
And the intake with the TB removed:
And finally the new TB being connected:
RT and Jim were both really nice, very knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. RT's generous donation of garage space was very nice, especially since the temperature was just above freezing outside.
I do notice faster throttle response since the swap. It's harder for me to be sure about power gains, especially with the recent cold weather here, but it feels very strong at WOT.
I am still seeing high idle (around 2000 RPM) each time I come to a stop, then idle drops to 1000 RPM as soon as the speedometer reads 0 MPH. I am hoping that the ECU will correct this after a few more on/off cycles.

Tedster,
Have you noticed a "softer" VTEC transition since the ProFlow installation?
I also intalled mine 10 days or so ago, and the weather has limited me to a very short test drive. It seems more powerful overall, but with a smoother, less pronounced VTEC transition.
Possibly due to more pre-VTEC power? Computer still "learning" WOT/VTEC transtion fuel mapping?
Anyone else experience this? No other changes were made.

My checked voltage was slightly different at closed throttle. Idle problems only were there for a few startups. I feel the VTEC transition is the same if not more pronounced. Also noticed a very slight change in the intake pitch. . .
But I am very happy with it, and also glad it Idles at 1000rpm now instead of 800 like it used to.

does anyone else notice the "as cast" interior surface of the intake manifold???wouldn't a bit of cleaning up the inner surface help out in conjunction with the smooooth TB??just wondering....
