Don't sit by idly and wait to see if it passes ... E-mail your state legislators like it says!
I just e-mailed both of the state legislators in my district. Note that depending on your address, your state legislators will be different.
Use this link: http://www.semasan.com/ContactYourLegislator.aspx
Enter your Zip Code, click GO, and then enter your full address and click GO. You should get 2 names of people who are in the Virginia Senate and Virginia House. These are the people you need to e-mail. Sending one to people in the Virginia U.S. Senate or Virginia Congress isn't going to help since they usually represent us for Federal laws and this is a state matter.
You can also try e-mailing our governer.

Just fired off my email to both Senator Stolle and Rep. Bob McDonnell, both of which are good friends and ran for office for the first time when I was running for the Senate.
Here is the one to Senator Stolle:
Dearest Ken: Hope all is going well for you and the family. Seems like a million years ago since we last spoke. Maybe I will get the chance to see you at the up coming Hunters Feast in March.
The reason I am writing to you today is there is a bill being presented in the House I would like for you to consider. I am not sure that it has a counterpart in the Senate yet. This is not an earth shaking bill by any stretch of the imagination, but one that I think makes sense.
The car enthusiasts in Virginia, me included, would appreciate your support on this bill. And I would also add that I would like to see one like it, presented in the Senate as well. This bill makes sense in several ways. Although I believe the language to be weak and needs some improvement in some areas, I still think it makes great sense, and it will generate more revenue for the state.
The bill defines a legal limit for sound decibels for all car exhaust, and ask that a process be used to determine, fairly, a standard measuring system.
HB2895 would remove subjective provisions in the law and force compliance.
HB2895 would remedy the enforcement policy currently used by police officers in which nearly all exhaust systems not of a type installed as standard factory equipment are considered illegal - even where noise levels are not excessive or unusual. This policy leaves enthusiasts, exhaust system manufacturers and dealers without recourse.
I will not repeat the entire bill in this letter, as I am sure you have plenty to read in your office already. But take a look at it and give it some consideration please.
