Default Soft Top Replacement

Hey All,

So this morning I was dropping the top...and all I heard this loud cracking noise...I raised the top back up and inspected the top...and a rip/tear had formed on my vinyl back windshield, shaped like a 'T' from bottom to top...I'm outta warranty, and I was wondering if I should take this up to Honda...because seems like a defected material than a wear issue. Anyone have this problem or any sort of problem with the top and taken it up with a dealer?

Joon

Sorry to hear about your top issues... While this reply isn't exactly on target (I don't have any experience dealing with Honda on out-of-warranty issues), I did want to let you know that I've recently had my '03 top replaced because it was slashed, and the shop I took it to has a cloth, glass window prototype they're itching to install. Company is Teeter and Schact in Novato. BTW, I was very satisfied with their quality and care on my car.

Regards,

MCK

does Teeter and Schact do this? approx. how much does it cost to just do a plastic to glass swap?

Thanks

so does the 02 top fits the 00-01 frame? I'm about to take it down to a shop, and I get the feeling they are going to charge me extra for a 'custom' job.

or...I'll just tape it up and wait for my hardtop to come in

the shop im planning on taking it to probably can..but will probably cost me more money to do it this way rather than just getting a new soft top.

-uninstall yours put all your stuff back together
-uninstall mine, install your soft top to mine

vs

-purchase new
-uninstall my old, install new

^ but you can forget about putting one back in mine. I'm thinking about you uninstalling mine and that's it for my part. Should be a lot cheaper don't you think?

Considering I always have my hardtop on i don't think i will need a soft top

just a thought. if you're interested send me a pm
