Default Not taking your car to Earnhardt's?

ASU_Lee - Jan 16, 2005

Wow, great service! Lori (service rep) took my car in, and Cesar(the mechanic) really took care of my S. I got detailed descriptions of the work that was done and a detailed record of all work completed.

I even got torque specs on bolts in the details of the service reports! Amounts of fluids added and types added.

So being the obsessive individual that I am.....I checked the work and looked under the car. It was all done correctly and the underside of the car cleaned. (Spoon x-brace)

All I have to say is Thanks.........I have finally found a dealership I believe in.

Hey Cesar. We need a wrench like you in Houston man!

Well, I'm officially blown away. Lori communicated with me at every step of the way. Cesar included detailed notes on the invoice - explaining absolutely everything that was done.

He went out of the way to correct some problems caused by the vehicle's owner trying to do more than he's qualified for when installing aftermarket parts - at no charge. They even threw on my new set of tires for me at no charge.

I had the Euro spec alignment done - I felt like the car was super-glued to the road the whole way up to Flagstaff today. Incredible!

The service and quality of work more than compensates for the long commute to Earnhardt's from Flagstaff. They even hand-washed the car for me.

Well Cesar wowed me!
I picked my car up today and practically every item I had for them to check got REPLACED!
He even found a problem with my top that I did not even know about.
They did a awesome job!

Dc5racer if you have not made an appointment yet I don't know what your waiting for

Yup. They [Earnhardt] did a good job...They checked a lot of things (which makes me feel good about my FI running on 10+k now). Coils are good, spark plugs are good, cylindar compression is good, leak-down test is fine, EVAP system ok. Come to find the injectors were bad. So a full diagnostic for free!!!

...Overall I am satisfied with them, and the car runs great.

Met Cesar and Lori today at the auto-x. As a matter of fact, Cesar saw my Arizona S2000 hat and came up and introduced himself. Several of us talked to he and Lori during one of the breaks. Seem like good people and he certainly knows a lot about the S.

AZ Stookies...
Lori and Ceaser took my stook in and fixed the rear bumper. I'll definitely go back there for service. It's good to know that we have an enthusiastic service manager and a mechanic that has taken on the S2000 as an expertise here in the valley.
Great service, and great work.
At the other dealer, I had to wait for about four hours to find out that nothing could be improved. At Earnhardt's, the work was done in less than two, and it was done right.
Great Job Ceasar, and thanks for setting it up for me, Lori.
I look forward to seeing all you stookies at Earnhardt's in April.
Hey, Ceaser is looking for a ride. I might be able to help. Anyone?

I have to say that the Earnhardt experience has restored my faith in dealerships again!! I took my S in today as I had quite a few things I needed done on the car, primarily valve adjustment, swapping CV joints left to right due to rear vibration and doing the Euro spec alignment. I knew that this might take some time so I took my work laptop in thinking that I might be able to complete some offline work while I was there. As it turns out, they had an area with high speed internet access and I was able to use MVP to access my work network! It was just like I was at work, except better! Here's a pic of my "work" desk

It definitely help being able to work while I waited as I was there pretty much from 8-5! Besides doing all the work mentioned above, Cesar addressed the creaking issue I was having with my hardtop and inspected the car with me in the service area. And while I was waiting, Lori went above and beyond my expectations with updates, refreshments, asking if I needed anything, etc. She was awesome!!! *And* to top it all off, it just so happens that they were celebrating their president's award today in the dealership ... I was able to meet some of the Earnhardts, including Tex! (didn't get a good shot of him but he's the guy in the cowboy hat) I got free lunch too!!

All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely take my car back there. I highly recommend all AZ S2k owners to try them out for yourself. You will be blown away by their hospitality!! I can tell that Cesar really enjoys working on these cars by the enthusiasm he displayed when he explained what he did to my car over the entire day. When I got my car back, the car felt awesome. I didn't feel the rear vibration anymore and it actually drove like a new car! The Euro spec alignment was superb. Felt like the damn thing was glued to the ground - can't wait to test it out at PIR this weekend!

Well to end my rambling (can't help it!! They're that good!), here's a picture of Cesar and Lori with my car after it was done :

I want to thank you guys again for taking care of me and my car today!! Bravo! Also, much thanks to Wil, Jordan and anyone involved in setting this up for us!

Mervin.
Another satisfied Earnhardt customer!

I spent the afternoon today with Lori and Cesar having some warranty work done and getting a valve adjustment. I guess I don't have to say it but as you would have guessed they were wonderful. Unlike Mervin I didn't bring my camera to document it nor did I get to meet Tex but still had a great experience. I'll be back there sometime next week when the fuel filler neck comes in to fix my gas cap "issue". Thanks to Lori for knowing there was a TSB to repair this (how many other Service Advisors do you know?...).

To make a long story short. TAKE YOUR CAR TO EARNHARDT!!
If you're not exactly "local" it's still definitely worth the drive, even if they didn't offer us discounts

From what I can tell the car does feel a little more responsive and the idle definitely smoothed out. Exhausts on #3 were still perfect, most where a little loose but both intakes on cylinder 1 were tight so they are all the same now and that can't hurt when something is spinning 150 times per second . It is a charge of 1.7hrs of labor. With our reduced rate of $68/hr that makes it $115.60. Cesar also suggested to replace the valve cover gasket as it was the original from the factory so I did but he did add it wouldn't be necessary in the future (most likely). With our parts discount of 20% it was about 26 bucks or so. If you take it in be prepared to spend a little time because the engine has to cool to 100 degrees before he can start the adjustments (metal expansion not him being afraid to get burned) to set the correct tolerances.

Took everyone's advice and took my S to Earnhardt's, just thought I'd share my experience.

Lori and Cesar make an exceptional team! Lori was able to arrange a last minute appointment and got me in on the same day I called. Not only that, once I got there she brought Cesar out and introduced me to the mechanic. She got me into the service bay right away and I waited no longer than 40 minutes for my oil change (nothing major) to complete and I was on my way. Cesar is not just another mechanic, he takes pride in his work and is a perfectionist....I know most of us S owners are very anal when it comes to our vehicles and knowing that you get the customer service and the mechanical expertise from a dynamic team is very reassuring. I have been taking my car to another dealership in the valley and have not experienced anything negative. Now with Earnhardt, the longer drive is only a small sacrifice (get more seat time ) that is well worth it. For me this peace of mind goes a long way in customer loyalty. Your baby is truly babied when taken to Earnhardt!

Thanks again Lori and Cesar! Nice meeting you both!

Yep.
I gotta tell you all that my rear bumber is still looking great. I took my stook to my seller dealer a long time ago after I had detailed my sled and noticed that the rear bumber seams were extended past the metal body joints. This bothered me because I am keenly aware of style points. Well, Ceaser took on my stook and strapped on the bumper like it really belonged there and it still fits like a mo-fo!
Totally stoked that we have an enthusiastic team ready to tweak our stooks.
Yep, I'll make the drive - and I live in the SE Valley. Like said before, the seat time doesn't bother me... especially for such great service and expertise.

I spent some time there yesterday getting all of my accesories installed. Yet again, awesome experience ranging from Billy Devey (accesories manager) to Lori and Cesar (both are incredibly nice). It took a little longer than it was originally estimated, but everyone was awesome. I got a phone call from Honda Motor Company asking about the entire experience, the whole rate from 1 (low) to 5 (best) scale. It reminded me of college when you just want to breeze out of the last class and just keep selecting the best option, but this was legit. At one point I even said 7 (the guy on the phone did NOT like that).

Thanks again to everyone over at Earnhardt, and thanks to whoever got us set up with them, they are great people to work with.
